Jets fans can tolerate a loser just as long as there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If we're gonna be bad we better be at the very least exciting to watch.
Chad Pennington? When I first read your post I thought you were just joking, but your serous. and how many rings did we win will noodle arm Chad? They might had been cheering at the stadium but the rest of us was mad as hell. It disgusting how this fans base has supported 3rd sting players on this team of the last 20 years. At leased Vinny was a hometown kid. We are going to be in last place and we be lucky to even win a few games this year, the stadium will be half empty by the 5th game, just watch.
As a decrepitely, ol'-time Jet-Junkie since '67, I've been thru & have seen wayyyy worse season(s) than what transpired this past season as well experiencing the same feeling of "hopelessness" you have for next season the same as "way back then". What's the alternative? You can go the easy route & switch allegiances to a team that enjoys or has enjoyed a successful track-record (Packers, G's, Pats, Steelers, 9'ers, Bears, Ravens etc.), denounce the NFL & football altogether & become a fandroid of Gr Britain's Manchester U. or become a devout follower of intrn'tl synch-swimming. Personally, I'm sticking with my JETS! Yes, I have been throttled by numerous seasons of disappointment; Yes, I have been teased & sucked in by "ALMOSTS";Yes, Ive been ridiculed by many for attaching myself to a perpetually losing franchise but I'll continue to soldier on! The same way as I held onto HOPE that my NY METS would eventually win another W.S.- in '86 - .. a wait that was WELL WORTH it!!! Nahhh screw that! I'm sticking w. my JETS. Even though it may look BLEAK & DEPRESSING, MIRACLES do happen! On any given day............! (just please get rid of that bad-luck, voodoo-non, Te-blow)! Go Jets! Win it again b-4 I leave terra-firma!
in 2002 you were mad as hell??? when we went 7-2 and chad was juking buffalo bill lineman u were mad??? when chad was lighting up the supposed to be the NFC #2 seed Green Bay Packers on our way to only our 2nd DIVISION TITLE EVER.....u were mad???? and when we hosted only our 4th ever home playoff game at the meadowlands to an astonishing 41-0 blowout....u were mad???? give me a break im talking about when we were 1-3 in 2002 and chad gave us hope.
No matter how bad things may appear, I can almost guarantee you that there won't be any games blackedout. Woody would not allow that to happen even if he had to use his Amex Cobalt card to buy the unsolds. With the advent of StubHub and other discounted ticketing outlets, affordable seats will be available and if the season goes in the shitter, even more seats will be available which will bring prices down which in turn, will coax more people to go to the games. Especially if they don't have to pay face value for the tix. Now Swag is another story altogether. I don't see how they'll sell a lot of it considering there won't be any numbers still on the roster worth owning. Green will be gone, Revis most likely gone, Tebow's #15 will be hung next to Farve's #4 in the back of the closet and nobody will be caught dead in a #6 jersey unless if by some miracle, he comes back and plays like a real NFL Qb.
Wilkerson's jersey is one I would by if LaRon Landry doesn't come back. And don't forget the numerous jets t-shirts out there as well, haha.
Not Almost. There will NEVER be a blackout of a Jets game. See B.S. would lose too much revenue...the Jets would sell them every ticket for a dollar to avoid the embarrassment, and CBS would but them for the Ad Revenue.
SOJFS nonsense. The look on Mannings face in the blowout home game, was priceless. I think these guys black out the highlights so they can wallow in the low lights.
You should say that CBS will never allow this to happen. The NY/NJ/CT market is their largest and they are shelling out a ton of money to the NFL to broadcast games. If the Jets are blacked out, they do not get to show another game in its place. CBS and Woody will work iit out to get the game on the air in New York - they cannot afford the hit to their advertising revenue.
true, but jersey sales are split evenly throughout the whole league so themoney lost there is not of great consequence
Place will not be empty....tickets will be cheaper than going to a movie so alot of people will be going!
There's an argument for putting the new QB in #6. That way you don't screw the fans who actually bought the jersey over the last few seasons and you also get a chance to sell out the inventory of swag with that number on it. I don't know that the Jets would do this but it's not a bad idea if Sanchez is gone after June 1st.
It will be fine. Attendance was fine when the team was bad before (2007) the market is so big someone will buy from the resellers.
^^^^^ This +1. I'll take the hit for 2013 if they're retooling the base instead of trying to put a quick fix 8-8 paper tiger on the field. However as for the crowds, you'll probably have more people StubHub-dumping tix and more 'visiting' fans. You just know the Miami game will have an unusual number of stall doors closed in the men's bathooms and a lot of loitering Dolphin Queens replacing the old stadium Gate D "Show us your tits!" chants with "whip it out!...whip it out!" at the Pepsi gate.
The original post was correct. You are reviewing the post in hindsight. In actuality, the crowd was very pumped when Chad came in (think McElroy vs. Cardinals). Jets finished strong and won their last AFC East crown that year btw.
