The thought that Brady would get cut is beyond absurd. I mean if he was supposed to get like 30 million a year with none of it guaranteed, at least that would be a possibility. The guy is a strong candidate for nfl MVP every single year. He might not be good enough to be great in the playoffs, but he puts his team into a position to where they can get to a Superbowl every single year. Barring catastrophic injury or a ridiculous contract circumstance (ie 30 million not guaranteed) there is a 0% chance he gets cut. Worst case scenario Pats trade him for a bounty and a half. All you gotta do is look at the contract Peyton Manning got after his injury, and how many teams were willing to give him anything he wanted, and this was for a guy coming off major injury. Brady either plays or gets traded
I think his regular season play is way too solid for them to think about cutting him. Yeah he's been human in the playoffs against good defenses, but you can't win them all. It's nice to think about though!
He played but was quite obviously compromised. He played a season low percentage of snaps and was only targeted 3 or 4 times.
This is interesting, but have you taken a look at Brady's personal stats in the playoffs in 2001, 2003, or 2004 (the years they won titles)? I'll just list his QB ranking. It's all on Wiki and other places if you want to look more closely Pre-injury, championship years: 2001 - 77.3 2003 - 84.5 2004 - 109.4 Post-injury: 2009 - 49.1 2010 - 89.0 2011 - 100.4 2012 - 84.7 Point is, he gets more credit than he probably deserves for the years they won titles, and maybe a little too much blame for the losses. But that's true for all QBs I think.
That's how it works, too much credit and too much blame. What do you think about what Bill would do? Hypothetically Brady retires in 2 years, do you think Bill would stay or leave the game with Brady?
I think BB's ego makes him staying and trying to win with another QB the most likely scenario. Unless Brady actually does play until he is 40.
I think Bill does that too. I think he wants to prove he can cut it without Brady. Had a nice preview with Cassell I guess
I don't think Belichick's future is tied to Brady's, no. Whether that's a good call for him or not is another matter! But I honestly believe he will be coaching for a long time, maybe even a little too long. I think he will want to win with another QB, like you guys mentioned, but I also think that there's just nothing else on the entire planet that this man would honestly rather do with himself than be a football coach. He's not one of those guys who'll get into broadcasting or some other type of GM or personnel job (he's already doing all of that), and I don't think he gets burned out like other guys do. My guess is that he'll be at it until he's close to 70. He started in the NFL in 1975, I think, and it took more than 25 years for him to have the kind of success as a head coach that most guys dream about. I'm thinking he will want to get every year out of it that he possibly can.
fact is they havent won cause they got caught cheating. Its alot easier to win when you know whats comming. plain n simple
Brady just signed an extension that will bring him through 2017. His cap hit will be 100K less than the cap hit of Mark Sanchez this year.
Yes, he took about a 60% cut to keep the Patriots competitive..he will make about 8-9 million less a year than he would make on the open market...he sounds just like Mevis, doesn't he...(obviously a sick sarcastic joke there)
Sign of a guy that wants another championship. He's made his money, and will still get the sponsership money. Now he makes NE more competitive. Bad news for us, he's still got 2more years at least as elite
And you just knows he's gonna play out that entire contract Fucking mother of god, we're gonna go 50+ years without a Super Bowl appearance. Epitome of pathetic.
