I'm well aware of the SEC, having spent 5 great years at UK. I've seen Cutler play twice. We smacked them around this year and we suck bigtime. The SEC rules the football world no doubt about it. But Cutler wasn't even the best QB in the conference, not even top 2.
Cutler's last 4 games: 10/22 at S Carolina L 35-28 11/05 at #13 Florida L 49-42 11/12 Kentucky L 48-43 11/19 at Tennessee W 28-24 You're right. If he was truly good, he would've played defense too. Or he could've at least put up 50 point games.
Vandy should have gone to a bowl game this year. Their non-conf schedule was set up to accomplish this. But they choked as usual, losing to MTSU at home and to my lowly Wildcats.
I am asking for one win, not excuses for him, we are going to have to rebuild when he comes into the fold, and our team will probably be one of the bottom teams in the league basically in the same situation Cutler has been, and all Cutler has shown is that he can be a flashy loser, their offense wasn't good enough to beat Middle Tenn St at home now was it, that would have given them their bowl game.
cutler might be alright if we were picking like mid late 1st round but were picking 4th lets just trade down and get more value with other picks because Cutler is not worth the 4th pick and I will guarentee it now that you will not see this guy picked in the top 3 like there trying to say . the reporters just want to stir up some more interest.
I"m still holding out hope that Reggie Bush is going to fall to us. Houston DOES NOT need him. They need an offensive lineman, a position that they continue to neglect. They want to trade down and take Ferguson. Maybe the Jets aren't going to move up to #1, but New Orleans or Tennessee might so that they can get the QB they want. #1 Tennessee takes Vince Young, #2 New Orleans takes Leinart, #3 Houston takes Ferguson and at #4 the New York Jets take Reggie Bush!
Leinart is going wayyyyy before Vince Young no matter who has the pick. Vince will be selected closer to #10 than he will be #1.
You're far more likely to draft a solid-o-lineman in the middle of the draft than a solid QB in the middle. We have a lot of picks and may have more by the end of the week. So we can wait to draft o-linemen, but we need several. For crying out loud, we should have targeted the line last year.
Yeah, I think the Wonderlic thing is going to take Young out of the top 5. This draft is still a big crap shoot as far as what we do.
I realize that, but I'm saying if you're stuck between a QB and an O-lineman with the 4 pick overall, it usually makes more sense to take the QB and address the o-line later on.

I'm salivating at the opportunity of having Cutler at 4 and Maroney at 29. That would be two great building blocks for our future.
