Since you came up with that idea, I will leave it to you to carry it out.

LOL at the people pretending this isn't a complete clusterfuck. Yeah this is all perfectly normal. Our previous OC is now interviewing for an O-Line coaching position, next year he may be driving the bus for the Beavertown Brawlers...

It's pretty clear no one in demand wants anything to do with the NY Jets. Norv Turner? LMFAO yeah right...

Oh I think the Titanic was long ago enough for people to use in comedy without offending anyone.

Thousands of people didn't die in the Costa Concordia, not even close. And the entire events around that crash are pretty comical, the Captain took off in a panic leaving half the passengers to fend for themselves, and then said he didn't run away but was pushed into the life raft and couldn't get out, classic!

In case you don't know... when someone gets a coordinator job on another team they usually hire guys from their previous team.

I have a feeling a lot of the coaches have some ill will towards Rex and the organization. It was really a clown show this year.

Pettine may be a lateral, but the Jets did not want him back. Isn't that kind of like a firing?

I thought it was widely reported that Pettine turned down an offered contract extension from the Jets. Do you have a source for your assertion?

624... are you really going to take it there? i mean come on man thats just trollish.

in other news, you can list who we didnt want or fired all you want. the point is that there are now 8 coaches who have left either on their own or because the jets told them to leave.

    and THATS ALOT OF COACHES.

where do you ever see 8 coaches get replaced for ANY reason when there isnt a new coach? i cant think of any instances where just about everyone and all of the top assistants left.

Yeah totally! What was his excuse in 2009 and 2010? Oh wait!

I mean is anybody REALLY surprised that we fired/lost a bunch of coaches? If so, you need help.

IMO if you are Going start over this is HOW NOT TO DO IT ! I would bring in a guy,,give him total control and hand him the keys and say FIX IT,,do what needs to be done. No wonder we have hired no one yet --it's a fiasco!

Just wait until they PROMOTE from within and move Glatt up or my personal favorite nitmare --->officially announce Cohen is the GM ,,,,then it will be a pukefest!

This thread is a fucking joke and a perfect encapsulation of the current state of things.

Coaches are NOT defecting. People wanted a clean house so the Jets let a bunch of coaches go, 1 of which our DC looking to move out from Rex's shadow, the other one getting a promotion, and one retiring which was announced a year ago. The rest were terminated.

Now people are saying (after crying for a clean house), the coaches are running, this is a circus. Nobody is running. I always find it amazing when people are faced with reality and perceive only what they want to perceive despite plain facts.

Rex is staying, the Jets are searching for a new GM, and a new OC. Our DC and STC spots have been filled already. Get over it.

If they made a quick hire you would say "they rushed to a decision. They are clueless. Woody is horrible." They take their time making the right choice and you say "it's a fiasco". LMAO

And what will it mean if they make a horrible choice after taking all this time?

What will it mean if they don't hire anyone?? I mean wtf?

If they take their time (which they should do) and make the wrong hire, it will mean the franchise will spin out of control and take years to recover. That's what it will mean.

The implications of rushing to a decision and not being diligent increase that risk.

Ummmm why would you say that when you know damn well that's not what he's talking about?!?!?!? Do you not understand the meaning of complete house cleaning and starting over?

To support your point last year we wasted no time to hire Sparano. I wish we would have had the chance to bitch about our lack of action then, while the CS did due diligence and got a winner for a change

It's difficult to draw an accurate conclusion about the nature of Pettine's departure.

Was he a leak to the media? Did he breach Rex's trust? Did he want to leave the uncertainty swirling throughout the Jets organization?

Did he want to free himself from Rex's shadow (i.e. Rex's Defense)?

Did the Jets offer him a deal that he and his agent deemed insufficient? It's possible the Jets didn't want to pay what he thinks he deserves, and despite not technically firing him, they offered him a contract that they assumed he would reject.

Maybe he and his agent knew there would be a bunch of HC openings, and instead of extending with the Jets, he declined in hopes of landing a HC position.

Maybe he wanted to test Coaching Free Agency, just like players do.

With Rex at the helm, Pettine's value to the Jets is reduced, whereas, his value to other teams (e.g., teams with a HC who possesses less Defensive knowledge) is greater.
