Jets' weak areas or need of upgrades : Offense : QB....OK RB....OK TE....OK WR....OK...Upgrade here wouldn't hurt OL....Veteran Guard/Tackle needed here desperately....1 injury away from chaos. Practice squad...We gonna need you. DEFENSE : DE : OK DT : OK LB : OK CB : OK FS : OK SS : Hard Hitter with some speed would be an upgrade....next year maybe (Smith) ? SUMMARY : Defense is solid, just as Herm left it, just a tad weaker w/o John Abraham. Offense is still the problem area for the Jets. Specifically the O-line. Aside from the Manigold & Ferguson, all the rest of line should be back-ups. Jets' need a QB that is a threat to the other team, someone thats put fear into a DB & can beat the other team with his arm & legs. Potentially only Clemens or Smith have those qualities. Qb is still an area to be addressed (next year). Again...Jets' problems are mostly on offense. WR position really needs an upgrade, but with a better throwing QB, receivers can do more after the catch. But a deep threat is #1 need. Lastly, if were upgrading, a strong blocking FB & TE are also needed. So, from my breakdown, I can see free-agency & draft mostly addresing offense, because the Jets' offense is offensive (stinky). Defense....more oveall speed on defense is always good. We can all see Jets' need a dominant NT or 2 up front. More speed at LB & secondary wouldn't hurt. Hard-hitter at SS is also needed. Well here it is.....State of the NY Jets' as of 9/07/06....In The Eye's of Run_N_Gun 10..... :jets: :jets:
really really well put. the only thing that im worried about is corner. if barrett does indeed get hurt, that just leaves strait as the backup and i would't feel very comfterble with that
I feel the RB by committee will work very well. Houston is my favorite & Barlow is a veteran that I feel between Martin & mangini, can inspire him to have a good season.
what Pete Kendalls not good enough for you? Moores OK I think hes solid enough to hold the line for now. RT needs an upgrade next year definetly.
Pete Kendall...No he's not, quite frankly!!! He's a career back-up now. Is he a pro bowl caliber guard to you ? He looks like a turnstile, the way rushers go thru him  :drunk:
Yeah well first of all you cant put 5 new guys on the field and call it an offensive line, with mawae and fabini gone, someone has to bring vet leadership in. He will be a solid option for now.
