Even though Sporano, Cavanaugh, and Hughan all got fired (and two of those three moves were WIDELY supported by most of the members on this board), there are a good three threads consisting of pretty much nothing but people whining and bitching about Woody daring to give Rex another chance. As though there is no 'accountability', even though there clearly is (otherwise those coaches would not be fired). Let's not forget that Tannenbaum is also fired, another move which was widely supported. I feel as though people can never be happy...
Not just here, but everywhere. I just read this absurd article from nydn that basically gave Mangini credit for the 2 championship games and gave Rex credit for only the last two seasons. It sucks but get used to it. It's going to be like this the whole offseason. It doesn't matter who we hire for GM and OC, it will be spun negatively.
Yes. Because I know there are more people who feel the way I do. We fire three people we all wanted to be fired, yet there are threads cluttered with thoughts of Rex and Woody making out, the media thinks Rex and Woody are making out, it's annoying. This team can never do anything right to some people.
Its a call out thread. A needed one too. This board and every other Jets site I see is out of control ridiculous. I barely post anymore its so painful to read a lot of the time. I can take the complaining but its all the stupid posts that drive me nuts.
This is sports. Everyone has their own opinion on how the team should be run. But the main reason why you have such a wide array of opinions is because Woody Johnson has allowed this franchise to get out of control. Well run franchises garner respect from their fan base who are likely to give them the benefit of the doubt when the team is sailing through troubled waters. A lot of fans have no trust in the leadership of this team, and that is why you have fans making their voices heard. Many of us are fed up with the nonsense and just want to get back to football. Unfortunately today only confirmed what we fear the most, incompetent ownership. There's no fixing that.
This is what being a Jet fan is all about. The heartache, the stupidity, the incompetence. It's the very essence of being a fan, as a matter of fact. That's why one century when they win the Super Bowl, the entire fan base will be crying like babies.
I like the moves the team has made so far and I can't wait for the draft. I understand why some here are feeling negative, but I think there's a ton to look forward to.
Instead of calling out the fans for stupid posts, you should be calling the NY Jets organization and telling them that you're sick and tired of the circus. The circus atmosphere surrounding the team at the moment is what's contributing to all the posts that drive you nuts. In order to fix the problem, go to the source. Now if you're enjoying the circus atmosphere that Rex and Woody have created, then you shouldn't mind the circus-like posts.
We win everybody is happy as a pig and shit. Rex is the best, Woody has a big woody, Tanny is the greatest blah blah blah then we lose and Rex sucks, Woody sucks hang them all the gallows! It's never as good as it is and it's never as bad as it seems. All hope isn't lost but this is a natural human element... Good ole' bitching and moaning. Can't really blame them on most but the Rex hate is almost laughable considering everyone was in love with him not even 2 years ago.
An opinion and constantly complaining are two separate things. An opinion adds to the debate, complaining just makes the debate annoying.
its like nobody remembers the time before rex. you think this team has gotten embarrassed recently? jesus i shudder to think how some of you would have even handled the brooks bollinger/clemens/old as shit testaverde year we had not too long ago. rex ryan came in and immediately turned this franchise toward a new direction. but lets all forget about that cause the assholes at the nydn have a vendetta against the coach and print stories that fit their own circus narrative. its just a bit ridiculous. everyone is acting as if this team was great before rex ryan came along, when the truth is, this team had a complete shift in attitude and identity the moment rex ryan entered the organization. we knew there were going to be growing pains when the team hired rex, and still he was able to make two deep playoff runs despite his inexperience. the man might not have it all figured out yet, but i have faith that once he gets it, rex is the guy to take this team to the show. its hard to make one deep playoff run, let alone two, in your first two years as a head coach. just because the last two years havent been as successful doesnt mean its time to turn on the coach that really made this team relevant again and created a defense that teams around the league fear.
