What would be good enough for him to keep his job after the 2013 season? It is an interesting question as the Jets are in a bad cap situation and do not have that much talent. So what do you think?

I think the expectation will depend on how much they can upgrade the QB position. If they go into next year with the same shit level of QB play this season, I think Rex gets another year at 8-8. If they actually have a QB good enough to avoid the bottom three, Rex will need nine wins.

My guess is that we're gonna be forced to endure another season of horrible QB play as Jets play it safe & keep all their picks (which means no trades).

8-8 would probably be good enough. If Rex can get us to 9-7, we'll keep him.

That's the X factor that does not make it cut and dry...... at least hopefully.

Before FA and the draft it's hard to know who/what the JETS will look like, but at the moment it's not too good.

It's hard to expect the JETS to be very successful given that, so I think his performance should judged on how the team is held together, consistency, professionalism, developing of a young roster for the future and possibly the ability to make chicken salad from chicken shit can save his job....... if they continue to look like a clown show. ADIOS

    :shit:

Yep. The Jets haven't missed the playoffs three straight seasons since 1996. If Rex wants to keep his job he has to get the Jets in next year.

if no playoffs, nothing will save his ass. Pats missed the playoffs with 11-5

Records don't mean anything without playoffs

He's got a shot. 9-7 gets you in about 25% of the time and the Jets might win 10 games next year with some luck.

Anything short of play-offs, he's gone. That said, if we find a QB that doesn't turn the ball over 3 times a game, we have a good shot of making it.

How about if the jets just came out and said they are rebuilding, then the expectations for this team wouldnt be so high. If Rex runs his mouth, proclaiming this is the best roster, and he continues to act like a clown then his days are numbered.

If we go 11-5 and miss the playoffs I think Rex is safe, 10-6 to. But im pretty sure 10 wins will get a wildcard, prolly 9 or 8 .

Maybe the Jets might just tank to get Bridgewater or Manziel

If he somehow ends Brady's career then he's safe.

Most people here seem to think our roster is not good enough to make much noise, but expect Rex to get us into the playoffs to determine if he stays?
