The only big brother is this town is the Yankees. Jets and giants flip flop pretty consistently, as do the ny teams in the nba and nhl

That's a media answer and unfortunately no qb rostered gave us a good chance to win

For me I laughed at points during sf ne and tenn games
Not all on Rex but happened on his watch. Most comical pathetic and embarrassing football I can remember. And all in one year

    That was funny.

I get the feeling there's gonna be lots more laughs before next season starts.

I like how people play up the foot fetish stuff, when it was plain as day the man is a straight up swinger/wife swapper from the personal ads they posted on those web sites.

I don't give a flying fuck about any of that shit. I care about what happens on the field.

The foot fetish was the stupidest. Oh GOD, NOT A VIDEO WHERE HE TALKS ABOUT HIS WIFE'S FEET? NOOOOOO! That must mean he jerks off to feet 24/7, and is obsessed with feet!!!! How fucking stupid. Anybody sensationalizing that can go jump off a cliff. You aren't a fan of the Jets if you bring that up. End of story. The guy loves his wife. I'm sure it's not just her feet. People are friggin retards. It's not like it was a sex video. It was a foot massage. Talk about being blown out of proportion

Of course I care. If I didn't I wouldn't post it here. I care that the media blindly bashes us and that sheep just go along with it and echo it on forums and article comments. The part I don't care about is the subject matter of the articles. It's usually irrelevant, but they try to suggest it matters. Rex has a tattoo. I don't care. Rex goes on vacation. I don't care. Rex predicts a superbowl. I don't care. Rex blows off the media. I don't care. Rex loves his wife. I don't care. Media bashes Rex for the aforementioned reasons. I care because it's not true and it's borderline slander. If I were Rex I'd probably sue these media clowns like Mehta. Isn't there some kind of law that you can't just make stuff up in an official news article without providing facts?

    Rex and Tanny combined

    Aaron Maybin gets sack

"Aaron Maybin has to do more"

    Aaron Maybin gets 2.5 sacks

    *Cuts Aaron Maybin*

Pass Rush sucks for 3 weeks

    Re-Signs Aaron Maybin

Aaron Maybin leads team in sacks and lights shit up

Next year we lack speed at LB

*Cuts Aaron Maybin while doing a charity event for the Jets*

Keeps Calvin Pace, Bryan Thomas and Bart Scott

some of these decisions were just mind boggling, its not like Maybin was killing the cap, I understand he had 0 sacks but he barely got on the field

This is the exact opposite of reality. The Giants, Rangers and KNicks are big brothers. ALWAYS. Its that simple. As a matte rof fact, the only sport in this town that flip flops is baseball. When the Mets were good in the mid 80s, they ruled the roost.

...you also have a very high tolerance for people in places of leadership acting, sounding and looking like anything but leaders. I'm not sure if that is admirable. But, you probably don't care.
Much like the Sanchez analysis from the outside looking in. If Rex Ryan was the HC for some other team, what would your opinion be of him from all you've seen since he got here? Let me guess, you would think he is a great HC, and you would love to have him take over your favorite franchise?

If Rex were the HC of a different team, I would personally think that he's a slightly weird loudmouth who is really good at handling defenses. I'd be comfortable hiring him as my DC.

You care about what happens on the field and defend Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez... Yet we went 6-10 this year and havent beaten more than one team in the last two years with a winning record. We've put together some of the most embarrassing games this franchise has seen, in one season. This team has deteriorated and slowly has become one of the worst teams in football. Yet you still defend them, make up your mind.

Oh, and Rex Ryan is a HC of the NY Jets. He is a professional and should act like it. Not only does his bullshit affect the NY Jets "brand", but it can affect the play on the field (there was a story last year where a player said that Rex proclaiming them SB champs put too much pressure on them which affected their play).

You do realize Aaron Maybin is hot garbage right. To say he lights shit up is just completely wrong. If you can't cover for 8 seconds he doesn't get a sack. He showed 0 improvement again this year and can't stay on the field because he can't play run D. The guy is going to be out of football soon he's so useless.

If Rex Ryan took a rookie and 2nd year Sam Bradford (or Josh Freeman)to the conference title game in back to back years, I would think he's good coach as well. To me, playoff wins are the most important stat a coach can have. But to many of ya'll the most important thing is the way he talks to the media. I just don't see how he's unprofessional. He never bashes his own players, he usually says the right things in pressers, he defends his coaching staff, and he wins games. There's not too much else that really matters. He's got a 50% rate at making the playoffs. I can't stand the whole politically correct crap. Let Rex be who he is. It changes nothing.

We lost 2 more games than last year with our 2 best players injured and essentially throwing the white flag for the last few games. I don't consider that getting worse. Name a single team in the NFL today, that you could remove their 2 best players and they wouldn't have a couple more losses on the year. It's really not a fair assessment. Hell, the Colts lost their #1 best player and went 2-12 after going 10-6 the year before. I know Peyton is a bigger force than Holmes Revis or Keller, but those types of things are very hard to over come. Holmes Revis and Keller are healthy this year and we win at least 2-3 more games. At least... If you are trying to assess how good the team is you have to factor in the injuries. If not, you are joking yourself.

That wasn't a player. That was Rex Ryan himself, and he put the blame on himself to avoid it being put on the players. He also didn't predict a superbowl the last 2 years. In 2011 he did it as a joke that was obvious to anybody that didn't read it in text format in a Cimini article. Having a little bit of fun with your brother before you play his team, is not unprofessional. It's having fun, which is what the game of football is supposed to be about. If you don't have fun, you will never win. If you are winning, stuff like that doesn't matter. The only reason that stuff is even mentioned is because we've struggled over the last season and change. When we were winning and making deep playoff runs, people weren't saying anything about Rex's bravado. Now it's suddenly the downfall of our team. Not talent, not injuries, not poor QB play. It's Rex's bravado.

I haven't bothered to read through this entire thread yet, but so far, there are some real gems. I'm going to give you mine, and if it has been mentioned already, I apologize, I simply haven't gotten to it yet. For the record, this was the moment that I first began to lose faith in Rex because this quote either: A) Proves that Rex is a delusional imbecile, or B) Confirms the reality that Rex is completely and utterly full of shit and has no credibility, whatsoever. (FYI, I lean towards choice B)

    Here goes:

"I’ve got three quarterbacks I feel good about . . . I think we’re in a lot better situation than probably a lot of teams.”

-Rex Ryan on the state of the NY Jet quarterback situation, following the Arizona game (the game in which Mark Sanchez was first benched)
