Just to stir the pot a bit, since there isn't much else going on right now... It's an article from over at Coldhardfootballfacts.com http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.co...have-saved-5-gms-7-coaches-and-9-teams/20537/
But But.... Real QBR makes Tebow look decent... so obviously its a bogus stat and should be ignored completely, cause you know... he can't throw and stuff...
ah,if only the professionals that see him play every day in practice were as smart as you guys. But,no,they would rather lose than use the holy greatness. ya
Any idea how they weight things like fumbles, interceptions, etc? I had seen that article the other day somewhere and he makes a pretty good arguement. I do like the fact that it counts running as well as passing.
Yes, coach footy is really great at evaluating talent. He could have taken Ray Lewis to Jets. He and that fired guy cut Woodhead, also found the franchise QB in Sanchez. Yah. They are really good at it and won't make a mistake.
They use these stats: ATT(attempts) = pass attempts + rush attempts + plus sacks; ADV (advances) = completions + rush attempts. NetYds (net yards) = passing yards + rushing yards – yards lost on sacks. TDs (touchdowns) = TDs passing + TDs rushing by QBs. TOs (turnovers) = interceptions + fumbles by QBs. You can find their current QBR ranking here: http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/stats/2012/Final/QBR/
Way to argue the article. At least give us a quantifiable metric that shows why he sucks in your opinion. I don't think the article is saying he is great, but if I'm reading it right it puts him at around average actual production wise. Thanks for the link Jet.
How can u argue a stupid ass article like that one? I'm not saying that he couldn't had saved someone job. But don't you think that really reaching?
I wasn't arguing the premise of the article I was more focused on the rating system they use. IMO the only reason for any mention of Tebow at all was to draw hits to their site.
Looks like you have no real counter arguments . I am sure you didn't read the article. The stat they used Showed 218 wins to 37 losses when using the measurement . Please tell us how that stat is nonsense.. Lol Hard to argue with that stat ...try readng the article next time
So Brady is the 5th most efficient QB in the league gathering the 3rd most TDs and least amount of TOs? And WAS tied for the 9th best record in the league has the best QB efficiency but 8 other teams finished ahead of them and 4 tied them record wise? Also, looking at last year's total QBR, oh boy does it look bad in relation/prediction to this year. There is no indication that total QBR will stay the same or close year-to-year. And as always with formulas, why can't I find the formula for this? Because at the end of the day this is what ESPN tried with QBR, but if you don't give me the formula, it doesn't help anyone.
Of course it is. They subscribe to this notion that putting Tebow in is automatically going to result in wins, and every coach should just ignore what they have been watching him do every day that they see him. Most misunderstood QB in the NFL? What a bunch of nonsense. They like that one stat, but it doesn't change the fact that he still led the league in three and outs. Led and offense that was the least productive for the Broncos in decades. ...and finished dead last or close to it in almost every other major passing stat. Good luck in Canada, Tim.
What's funny is that it's pretty obvious this article is not to be taken seriously. The headline should've tipped you off. The website was probably just lacking in visitors and thought a great way to get people to link to their site is to find some way to write some article that praises Tebow. Teblowers would be sure to find it and to link to it and it would create controversy/discussion. It's such a stupid article and doesn't deserve it's link to be spread. I could create some bogus ass Tebow article and I'm sure I'd I get traffic as Teblowers would be sure to find it and eat it right up.
