If Rex was behind the leak I'm guessing somebody asked him how someone goes about "getting talent" for the offense when the 1st round picks keep going on the other side of the ball. If he wasn't behind the leak well then it was just more noise around the Jets and right now something has to be pretty noisy to ring above the general din.
I absolutely agree with you 1000% Also on the GM thing....alot of coaches/GM types think Rex has a big mouth and is a shit head. But just as many love Rex especially based on the first two seasons with NYJ and his work in Baltimore. So I'm sure some of the GM candidates would love to work with Rex. But they have to realize sporano is a moron. O-line coach at best.
This would be ok if it were Andy Reid maybe. The problem with Rex being a GM or HC/GM among other things.....first and foremost is that the fucking guy CANT pick talent.
Do you have any examples or are you talking completely out of your ass. I'm not saying that this is what I want to happen, but I wouldn't dismiss the idea completely. Most if the bad players we have now were brought in by Tanny and Bradway. Rex hasn't had really any control over personnel since he has been here. He gets one late round pick, oh joy.
I don't want our coach playing GM. I'd rather it be 2 separate people. I think doing both spreads an individual too thin
They are likely just working on a buyout with Sparano rather than just firing him outright and having to pay his entire contract. not hard to grasp, but the fans who don't want to accept that their are dynamics to running a business that they do not grasp want decisions made as if there were no repercussions to those decisions.
Maybe they are just feeling out other candidates before firing their current guy. Built in back-up plan.
Sparano should've been fired in week 8, the fact that he hasn't been canned yet is starting to bother me, he should've been the first to pack his bags, followed closely by Tanny.
