Sanchez will be on the roster. The Jets are not taking a $17 million cap hit and nobody will trade for him.
You almost have to get rid of Sanchez at this point. He costs 13 million or so against the cap next year and 4.8 million in 2014 as scheduled. If you cut him the 4.8 million accelerates to 2013. He has virtually no trade value so the Jets will most likely try to trade him in such a way as to get him off the roster and delay the 4.8 million cap hit to 2014. Most likely they will have some kind of deal that makes the 4.8 cap liability tied to his 2013 play time thereby delaying the hit. I believe this is possible but am not certain.
