Can the webmaster or whoever takes care of this website change the next game portion on the front page -- I dont think we are playing Buffallo in week 17 Jan 1st --
You're right. For the amount of money we pay for this site we should have by-the-week changes made to the page nobody really visits anyway. Oh wait, we don't pay- that's the other site. I'd cut Petro some slack, the guy probably has other things outside of TGG going on and has been current once the season started.
I am never one to bug Petro over the website, but I think he makes a fair point here...He did have all offseason to change it from Bills to Titans. 6 Months? Then again it doesn't really matter as we all know who the Jets play week one.
A suggestion: I have found that Petrozza does not mind this kind of feedback. But he responds much better to a PM than to be called out on the message board. I have mentioned a couple things like this to him through PMs. He always replies and fixes the problem pretty quickly. Remember he lets us use this site for free, so for next time a simple PM would do the trick.
It's a fair point but i believe that petro made it pretty clear that hes got alot going on in his life right now. The big one is that he is getting married. But normally when he has the time to keep the site up to date its excellent. Give him a month or two maybe... and he should be right back on track(not that i even know...just assuming because wedding season is over!) The only thing that I would have suggested was give the other admins more power to change things within the layout and functions of the board. Other than the past 4 months or so this site has been updated regularly.
No one is calling him out... a PM is going to get feedback from just 1 member while a thread gets a general consensous.
eh dont worry about it man... there have been at least a couple dozen of these threads started the last 6 months. But some people know the deal while other people haven't been informed yet. Maybe a sticky should be posted? meh.
Well Petrozza isn't just a member. A general consensous is irrelevent in this case. The point is to bring it to his attention, so that he might be able to fix the problem. So yes, it is calling him out. Just send a PM to let him know. Why have a discussion about it? The other members opinions/feedback doesn't matter in this instance. It is his site and he is the only one that can fix the problem. I just don't see the point. As I have said in my earlier post, I have sent him a PM about similar things in the past, he responded to me in a couple days and it was fixed. No thread needed.
Irrelevant? not so much, I think its pretty much obvious to him with no PM needed that the week 17 Bills game needs to be switched to week 1 vs. Tenn. The so called "calling him out" is kinda needed in some of these cases. A message board administrator should be ready for stuff of this sort if things are left unattended to. I'm just saying that it should be known to all board members that hes got alot going on right now(from previous threads) and to be patient. It does piss members off regardless if the board is free or not. But if you know what the deal is then fine... no one gets mad. There have been threads on this issue for months now and a sticky should be put up letting everyone know what the deal is. Small issues like that can be posted in the sicky instead of PM's IMO.
It is also equally silly to post a recommendation in the NY Jets Forum for the site itself under the title "Not that it Matters... but". You aren't likely to get his attention that way. If you PM him he'll get a message in his email about it. Lot faster than relying on him to browse every meaningless thread in the forum.
then you shouldn't sound so snide. you could have simply asked that it be updated to reflect week one, but the comment "I don't think we are playing Buffalo on Jan 1st" is passive aggresive and snide, and arguably offensive.
I think you may be overreacting a bit. He was just joking around when he mentioned we don't play Buffalo.
It might not be obvious to him because he might not realize it is still incorrect. As you said he has alot on his mind. You and the creator of this thread feel the need to bitch and moan about it, as implied by your statement that it is "kinda needed" to call him out. No there isn't. You could go directly to the source, and PM, thereby making it more likely he will get your message and fix the problem. There is no need for a "sticky" or threads complaining about it. The only purpose of a general "concensous" and threads, is to try to get everyone to join in a massive bitchfest with you. If the concern was to get the problem fixed, then the best and most civil course of action would be to send a PM to the only person who can do anything about it saying "I know you might be busy and might not be aware of the situation, but there is a problem with the front page. etc. etc. etc." That is much more likely to get a response and something done about it, then after 2-3 months (as you stated before) when he becomes free and finds a dozen threads with people bitching and moaning. Like I said twice before, I sent him PMs before about similar issues and they were fixed within a day or 2. No threads needed. Funny how that works.
Where in God's name do you see me bitching or trying to start a bitch fest so you call it? Your an idiot dude. Have you not seen the threads over the last 6 months? I don't give a flying shit about the site layout because all the info i get is within the forums. So before you go about assuming I am trying to start problems try and read my posts a little better. I am actually kinda sick of seeing them get formed over and over and over again which is why I recommended a sticky. I'm sure the PM's work but being the site creator and not noticing the week 17 change should make people a little pissed off thats all i'm saying. And for the sticky, wasn't meant for people bitching... it was meant to let people know to be PATIENT! with some feedback from posters.
