Nope, I quess I'll have to wait another six days to get my gift. I guess I'll get to rate how I've been this year on what gift I get. Very Good Fan List - New GM, new Coaching Staff and upgrade at QB Good Fan List - New GM and upgrade at QB Bad Fan List - only new GM Very Bad Fan List - They retain the GM, HC and QB they have for another year. *I asked for all new, including the owner, but I know that gift won't be coming this year. What did you ask for?
A GM who can evaluate talent and has a football mind, a capable NFL quarterback along with a competent OC
1. In terms of the coaching staff, I do agree that the coaches on the offensive side are all down right horrible. On defensive side, I don't know much about Dennis Thurman or Mike Pettine so I will reserve my comment on them. Karl Dunbar must be kept. I don't think Bob Sutton is anywhere near the championship quality coach that Rex and Dunbar are. While I do not harbor any ill feeling for that guy (as I did during Mangini era) I'd like to see Jets upgrade the LB coach position once and for all. 2. Scouting department: Clean the god damn house. 'Nuff said. 3. GM: Get a new one. 4. QB: Draft a new one, and give Sanchez a year to prove he can do it. If he does well at the end, trade him away. If not, release him. In the meantime, the drafted QB can learn much about quarterbacking by watching how much Sanchez sucks.
I don't think taking a 2nd or 3rd round QB would be unreasonable so long as you bring in a veteran to compete with Sanchez and the rookie. It really won't matter who's under center though if the o-line decides to take another season off and there isn't an upgrade made at offensive coordinator.
if you look at the o line and where they stacked up they were more than fine this season. forget the game vs sd. the team mailed it in, and it's not a good example. all in all and all things considered, our biggest problem isnt the o line...its everywhere else with a key upgrade at one oline position needed.
-New GM/Executive VP of Football Operations -New Head Coach -New Offensive Coordinator -New QB (one via free agency and another via mid round draft pick) I'll take 3 out of 4 if they decide to give Rex another shot. Although I think him losing control of the locker room as well as not being authoritative enough when it came to taking control of the offensive side of the ball and the OC's awful playcalling could lead to him being axed.
It seems most wouldn't mind keeping Rex, but we will have to see what the new GM wants. Most GMs would prefer a low key HC, plus under Rex the team has gotten worse every year. He lost control last November and still has no control.
I don't think Bob Sutton is anywhere near the CHAMPIONSHIP QUALITY coach that REX and Dunbar are. Jets fans are pathetic sometimes...
New GM QB Competition - rookie & vet come in. Ship Tebow the fuck outta here. I still think the Rex/Sparano Offensive Philosophy can work but we don't even have half the pieces in place on the O to see that working out. San Fran has a majority of the pieces needed for it to work. That being said we need 1 spot on the OLine upgraded unless we think Howard can get better, but I'd still like to see another OL/G come in to compete with Slaw/Vlad & Howard. And we need to get someone in to start grooming to Replace Moore. While he has been playing very good the last few seasons, he's no spring chicken. We can def get another season or two out of him. And then RB, FB, TE.
These two points are mind-boggling. Rex is a championship quality coach? Based on what? HIs ability to mismanage the clock? To motivate other teams more than his own? To have no clue what goes on in his own lockerrroom? His inability to have the spine necessary to make decisions that are best for the team? And you think a rookie QB will LEARN from watching how bad Sanchez is? Thank god YOU aren't running this team.
