What's your excuse now? We're talking about the worst starting QB in the league and a 2nd year 7th round pick. Tebow couldn't beat either of them out for the starting position. All those wonderful stats you love to regurgitate ... they mean nothing. No NFL team wants him as a QB. Like I told you guys all year, he was brought here to be Brad Smith II. Unfortunately he blows as a wildcat QB compared to Brad Smith.
It was crystal clear to me that Rex didn't want him. I don't understand how so many of his supporters and even regulars were so blind. I posted earlier that Rex would rather five McElroy a shot, he did it as soon as he saw the open hole when Tebow was inactive. I also said that people would bitch and complain if Rex skipped over Tebow to Greg. I'm 2 for 2 today.
I was gonna post a thread demanding an apology to you, but I saw this one. Is any more proof needed that the Jets just don't care for Tebow? They practically got beaned in the face with it thrown as a fastball and they STILL couldn't see it. Wonder what evidence Tebow Zealots will take that the league as a whole isn't that high on him. Perhaps it will be the underwhelming number of suitors that line up to get him on the cheap?
Sweet, a piling on thread! I was hoping someone would post this too. Don't know what took so long. Come on guys! Get on your game. Tebow sucks. It's so painfully obvious from his 8 throws this year. Jesus. I don't understand why "tebots" can't see that. I knew Rex would make the right decision. He usually does.
Just like I said earlier, Tebow was thrown onto the Jets. You DO NOT bring in a backup QB that is only successful with a completely different type of offense than your #1.
I know you debated this with a few people on here but for me perosnally ,it was REALLY old news. I called it on September 17th 2012, i hoped against hope i was wrong...but i knew...I knew... Here read this part... (original link to entire post at bottom) There is no wild cat or tebow-cat or spread or whatever the hell it is that anyone wants to call it beyond a few run gadget plays. The reason we did not see it in pre season is because it is smoke and mirrors. The reason they only practiced it in ONE closed practice (and even then on a limited basis) is because it does not go beyond 2 or 3 plays. Tebow will not be used as a weapon on this offense and if by chance he is used and does well ...it would be in spite of Rex , Sparano and Tanny having zero plans of actually using him besides a circus side show to appease Woody . So there you have it, Tebow is back to square one in the NFL, on a team that has little faith in him or anything he can do. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=74212 .....
This just proves that professional football people are consistent in that they'd rather lose with inferior talent than win with Tebow. That's all.
You act like this is a spelling bee. Tebow can't just go in there and beat him or lose to him in an objective test. Whether or not he "beats" McElroy for the starting job depends on subjective decisions of human beings. There are many non-football factors which weigh in on the decision. Anyways, good for McElroy. Just don't understand why they brought Tebow in just to do "whatever" it was they did with him this year. This is what happens when you involve yourself with the Jets. Just a sorry organization from top down.
You know, we all wondered why Tebow was even brought in here in the first place since March. Trust me.
Jerseys bro, Jerseys. Edit: it looks like your going to have to change your name to Backup QBs Backup
Tebow coudln't beat out as shitty Orton in camp, and got in by default... and to his credit, made the most out of it by playing good for 5 minutes and making enough people believe it was mostly because of him. Ends up getting the boot as the Broncos decide they didn't even want him as a backup... he then fails to beat out Sanchez. Coaches had next to zero faith in Tebow even when Sanchez managed to stink it up week after week after week after week after wee... you get the picture. Now he's getting the Brady Quinn treatment. Got leap frogged by the third stringer for starting time. Face it, the coaching staffs on two different teams who saw him every day (and not just the hilights from his last 5 minutes) decided they aren't impressed with Tebow. He flat out blows as a QB and should seriously consider a permanent position change while he still has his foot in the door in the NFL. As for why they brought him in? Marketing gimmick. Plain and simple. Jets seem to crave the attention. teBUST wanted attention too for different reasons and SEVERELY underestimated just how vicious the New York media can be.
Yeah, I guess the Jets fans were asking the same questions then that the Tebow fans are asking now. Full circle. The Jets have managed to accomplish the difficult task of pissing off everyone. I mean usually you only piss one of two opposing sides. This was expertly done.
Elway switched directions on Tebow as fast as he could. You don't just trade a "good" "QB" that took you to the playoffs for a 36 year old multiple surgery having QB. Elway knew what he had and unloaded it as fast as he could. Your right, he should change his position, before he loses his fans.. they can't praise him on the sidelines.
And you better believe it is going to get told. I'm wondering if Sanchez has dirty pictures of Rex or something, been wondering that for awhile.
As a Tebow fan, I am glad to see McElroy to start over Tebow. Because the coaching staff obviously don't know how to use Tebow effectively. They may break all his bones by abusing him. Tebow will be just fine. It will only make him tougher, and give him time to heal. His story won't end up here.
You're making the assumption that there was an open competition and that the coaches made the right decision. Tebow was clearly the best chance to win in Denver last year.
