Rex much like his father is a defensive guru , creating biltz packages that with the right players would be elite , he coaches with his heart on his sleeve and his defense loves it....but this is where his achilles heel is..

Problem is he is our head coach and shows no feel, understanding or comprehension of what a modern NFL offense should be ... his ground and pound mantra whilst driven to a part by his shitty qb ..is archaic in this current era where qbs are racking 4000 yards like its an everyday occurence.

In none of his 4 years has Rex shown any improvement in his understanding of how to operate an offense , no he is not there to coach it but he must be able to drive it and energise it. His inability to communicate with his offense reference the finite details show in my opinion .

Rex will not be here next year...anyone who thinks that a new GM will put up with this circus is refusing to see the true picture. If not for two gimme games we would be 4-10 and a more realistic picture of our current talent base

I like Rex , his first two years were fun but since the steelers game in 10 its been one bad joke after another and I don't think he can re-up and come back a changed coach. Rex is Rex ...he will stand by that til his last coaching day....that may just be his ultimate downfall.

Yep. This team has been pretty bad since then.

I really can't see the Jets turning this thing around without making major changes on the coaching staff and in the front office.

Do you really think ground and pound would be Rex's mantra if we had an elite quarterback? He's doing what he always does in public - putting a positive spin on whatever it is the team has decided to do.

We'll find out after the season where Woody thinks authority lies for the decisions that have cost the team, and hopefully get a few answers thereafter.

people forget it was Rex who fell head over heels for Fumblchize , it was also his call to stick with him despite many guessing he would be forced to play Tebow etc etc.

Rex is given too much slack by the fanbase , he was behind many of the draft day decisions and undoubtedly had significant input into some of our FA moves.

However 4 years in his coddling of Sanchez and his reluctance to fire Cavanaugh who has overseen the regression of Rex franchise qb are thing he must take accountability for. Again Sparano has Rex handprints all over it again thats been a fucking disaster

4 years in to his reign we are now further away from a Div title than we were when he started , there are other contributors to this mess but Rex has to take his substantial share of the blame for this fiasco....his refusal publically and seemingly in the decision making on game day to change his and his teams ways are troubling and will in my opinion lose him his job.

I was quite surprised that even he, as an NFL coach, put Tebow in on a third series after Sanchez had gained momentum because they "discusses it earlier".

I'm not saying Sanchez played well, but he seemed to have gained momentum on that drive, and Rex took it away by playing Tebow.

Why would he go to Tebow if he didn't believe he was capable of performing at a higher level than Sanchez though? Just for the hell of it?

Sparano is a Tannenbaum hire, clearly. He's a Parcells guy and that's Mike T's background, not Rex's.

Not sure where the idea that Rex 'undoubtedly had significant input into some of our FA decisions' comes from. I doubt he had any kind of power other than to suggest guys he wanted or types of players he wanted. Up to the F.O. to assess the available options and make the final decisions. Rex isn't paid to be a talent assessor.

I was saying this last night....... Sparano is the fucking WORST OC ever, and if Rex approves of the chaotic fire drill shit show they have going on, then maybe he needs to go too.

    :shit:

Yeah, the defense played well enough for the offense to win that game. Two field goals in place two of the five turnovers wins that game. It's not like they needed 35 points to win.
