Can anyone take a guess at what his life will be like after the Jets? Do you think he will still be involved with football or go anyother path.

My guess is that he will take some time off but will still be invloved with football. Mabye work for the NFL network or something.

    Thoughts?

Curtis has always said that he doesn't play for the love of the game, but rather because it gives him the opportunity to influence other people in a positive way. I don't think he'll stick around the game out of passion, because I don't think there's a lot fo that there. I would assume he'd go into some sort of philanthropy.

I remember seeing a special on ESPN in think in 2000 where Curtis said he had never watched an entire NFL game until he became draft eligible. He seems like a pretty private person and I wouldn't be surprised if the continued spotlight that remaining with the team would cause might be more than he would want. But I'd love to see him come back and coach. I just don't think he will.

he's coaching now.....there is no doubt in my mind that he will stay in the Jets Organization once he retires.

Yea, I agree with the point that I don't think Curtis will go on to be an analyst or football announcer. I hope we get to see him come back and be with the team in some way after taking a few years off to spend with his family.

If he backs up what he's said most of his career he'll wind up working with troubled inner city kids in some way. That's the take I've always gotten from him about what's next.

No way. When he's done playing, he's done with football. He'll do inner city charitable work when he retires.

I could see him being one of the players that talks to incoming rookies about the dangers of the new lifestyle the NFL will allow them to live and doing stuff like that so he'll still be able to have an influence on younger players.

This is exactly what I think he will do. He just wants everyone possible to have the same opportunity to rise above their situation as he did.

The Jets should hire Curtis is some capacity after he retires. He is one of the great Jets of all time and can only be an asset to the team. If he wants to continue his charitable work I am sure Woody would allow him to continue. Curtis is an amazing human being who could only help the Jets in the future on or off the field.

For the reasons listed by many I can't see Curtis as a coach or analyst. I think he'll be a "good will" ambasador for the Jets and the charitable projects they do.

hire him? Unlike many professional players that retire broke, I am sure money is the least of concern for C Mart. He does not need a job :)
