    Playoff Scenarios

I crunched some numbers and I think these are our paths into the playoffs (all require Jets to win out):

    If colts go 0-3:

    - Bengals finish 1-1 or 0-2
    OR
    - Steelers finish 1-2 or 0-3
    OR
    - Steelers beat Bengals in Week 16

If colts win 1 or more games:
    - Bengals must finish 1-1 or 0-2
    AND
    - Steelers must finish 1-2 or 0-3

If Colts go 0-3 , Jets get if Steelers win next week, regardless of what Pitt and Cincy do in week 17. Jets can get in with Pitt going 3-0.

If they both lose in week 17 (and Pitt this week) - Jets can get the 5 seed.

What's the possibility of Cincy beating Pitt? Cause honestly I think our only realistic shot at the playoffs is if this happens.

It will all work out, Texans will beat colts today and dallas will some how find a way late in game or ot to pull off a win vs steelers.

We win and than we play another week.

I really think bengals win next week with a long week to prepair and than lose to ravens cause honestly Ravens will lose this week to denver and giants next week and be playing for division vs bengals in week 17.

    It will all work out!

Claiborne is NOT expected to play vs steelers. This is a huge blow because he is a very good CB as a rookie and with steelers

In all seriousness - I think it will all work our for the Jets to get in.

However, we will shit the bed in week 17 at Buffalo.

Bottom line as I understand it for this week:
    Jets must win AND
Either IND or PIT must lose. If both win, no playoffs for Jets

Actually no, if both Ind and Pit win this week we can still get in if Pitt loses to Cincy and then they both lose week 17 - but that is a longshot.

Not the case if Pit loses the next 2 weeks. See my earlier post.

The funny thing is I really think the Jets have a better shot at making the playoffs then the Giants do.
Most likely no NFC East team is making the wildcard. Both Dallas and the Skins hold tiebreakers over the gmen and a much more favorable schedule.

do the ravens factor in if they fall to 9-7?

and also do the Cowboys control their fate if the giants fall? if so they better beat pitt.

No way. Granted that the Giants probably won't get a wild card, but going into today, they were the clear favorite to win the division.

Jets need to go 3-0 and get help.

Giants can win or they can get help.

    http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/playoffodds

Giants 78.4% chance at playoffs, Jets at 5.1%. It's not even close.

Washington is a game back and there's a pretty good chance they lose today.

Even if the Giants lose and Dallas wins, the Giants would probably still be over 40% to make the playoffs.

No way are Giants clear favorites to win Division
    @ ATl (loss), @ Bal ( better chance of L than W), Eagle (W) -most likely 9-7

    Dal - Pitt (L - could win)), NO - (W)
    Skins @ Cle (W), Phi (W)

Dal and Skins play week 17 - one of them will be 9-7 at least but I really think the winner in week 17 will be 10-6. Giants will be lucky to get to 9-7 and even then the lose the tiebreaker on division record.

This is what is going to happen folks:

Cincy is losing their next 2 games to Baltimore and Pitt, they're ending 8-8

Pittsburgh is losing today then winning their next two, they finish 9-7

We win the next 3, finish 9-7

Colts lose out, twice to texans and upset by KC, they finish 9-7

We grab the 6th seed with tie breaker over the Colts, then proceed to beat #3 Denver, #1 Houston, and #2 New England, then go on to win the super bowl.

    Mark it down!
