*HEADSLAP* Edwards reportedly had a three year deal worth about $20 mill on the table from some team (think it was the Vikes). The Jets signed Plax 'cause they figured they couldn't afford both BE and Holmes. After the Plax signing, Braylon had his nightclub dust up and the interested team rescinded their offer. If Tanny knew he could have had Braylon for the one mill he eventually took from the Niners, he very well may have brought him back.
That doesn't change what I said though. Edwards value dropped after a few weeks passed and no one signed him. He was still there to be had and the Jets didn't want anything to do with Edwards. They went with Burress because the front office were arrogant pricks.
Hunh? You said, "Why didn't they offer that money to Braylon instead of Plax?" Doesn't my explanation address that question?
Its simple....sanchez sucks his stats prove it. He was not and is not a game manager, please get the mexican burrito out of your jaws! Stats prove what individuals are doing to help the team. Wins prove that the team is collectively overcoming their deficientcies. Nacho sucks, his stats as a qb prove it! He is good at handing the ball off though, what r his completion % on the balls he handled on those plays. Its not coincidence that mcelroy had to help his team win a game rather than suckchez. Puss guy shouldnt be playing football, unless he learns to be a kicker! If you cajt see this.....what the hell is wrong with you?
I don't remember anybody willing to offer a 3 year 20 million for Braylon. All the top free agents were already off the market and there were other receivers that took cheap deals with other teams (Ocho Cinco to the Pats). I just remember Braylon being willing to take less to remain a Jet and Tanny refusing to resign him and went with Plax.
With Rex pushing so damn hard for Aso Tanny had no choice to let one of these WR walk. Rex fucked up that situation & he's the major reason there's all these guaranteed contracts this season. Tanny forced to give guaranteed money to player to they can move money around & keep bidding for Aso. What Tanny should've done was tell Rex to shutup & deal with whatever roster he puts together.
Bray Bray isn't a good WR anymore, hence his massive drop off in production since leaving NYJ. And not surprisingly, after his unprofessional and foolish comments about the NYJ he was forced to apologize, admit he was wrong and now he's been released by Seattle. He's now out of a job. http://www.freep.com/usatoday/article/1744853&usatref=sportsmod?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Sports|p There is a good learning opportunity for some of the young TGG members: Don't criticize your former employers - no matter how much you don't care for that employer - you have nothing to gain personally or professionally from trashing your former boss, former co-workers, former employer - be smart and professional and move on.
i'd still bring him in for a workout. At least Sanchez trusts throwing him the ball and he seems to have Sanchez' back more than anyone else.
If were going to nitpick, I'd say pretty well. That was the Mark Sanchez we signed up for. We never signed up for an elite QB that throws for 5000 yards every season. We signed up for a QB that can limit mistakes and make plays to help us win games. I would of liked to see him build off that performance - that won't be the case. I was a big fan of his 2nd year.
Sign this beast now, got cut for his words. He's like 100x better than the scrub receivers Tanny brings in and he'd come for cheap.
why is it so hard for many to understand. The reason why Bray wasnt signed is because he had a dui in a time he needed to not f'up in order to stay with the team. This was at a time the JETS implemented a program where if you needed someone to drive you, someone will come and pick if up if I remember correctly.
Those two "bonafied scrubs" both have more yards than Edwards this year. That's should throw him rit in the same category. Edwards is the type of guy that tweets about bar fighting right after getting a DUI, he is just as much of a stupid thug as Holmes, just a less talented one. The man love he gets around here is fucking silly.
the difference between playing excellent and playing pretty well is not nitpicking. and you don't trade up in the draft and pay a QB $50 million to just be a game manager. that is the position and salary of a QB you expect to be elite and be able to dictate the game with his abilities.
Braylon declined after he hurt his knee. Chances are, if the Jets resigned him he wouldn't have been in that situation and the injury may not have ever happened. It's speculation, but realistic. The problem is management didn't adequately replace him until this year, and they replaced him with a rookie that may take a year or 2 to develop. They should have done that the year before. They knew Plaxico would be temporary.
