Why not???...Sanchez has regressed so much, he looks like he passed the point of no return...That opening pick was pathetic...
Sums up my thoughts pretty well. Ultimately I think that Sanchez is a better QB than McElroy, but you can no longer justify starting him every week when he plays like this. Start McElroy next week, and if he sucks go with Tebow the week after. Then bring in a competent veteran in the offseason, and have a true training camp battle for the starting job.
AND the first long pass to Shillens is a TD if any other QB is throwing the pass (aside from Lindley). Chaz had his guy beat by two steps ... WIDE open ... the ball is underthrown, so he has to slow down and reach back for the ball. Knocked away. A couple of plays later we're missing a FG ... Zero points. I think we should pull the plug on Sanchez only if we're tired of easy TD's being left on the field and passes hitting DB's between the numbers. If we can live with that, then by all means ... let's keep sending this loser out there.
I don't care WHY I just know WHAT And that is Mark Sanchez is a train wreck disaster and disgrace. Go away forever.
I've said it in other threads but I will repeat it here: only reason to keep starting mark would be to somehow increase the likelihood you can dump him on another team. That's it. Other than that he should have been benched weeks ago.
Mark HAS to start next week, he had a bad day today yes but McElroy has absolutely no arm strength and zero experience.
if you guys think that mcroy is the future or will lead to jets to a playoff berth then you guys don't know how to judge talent or the sport in general jets made a short sighted faustian bargain today that made me lose respect for the entire franchise. chicken littles, the lots of them
I said this in another thread, but I would start Sanchez and tell him that if he messes up then McElroy will be placed back in the game in the 2nd half.
Im not saying McElroy cant do it, I just believe Sanchez will get the start next week. The success once Mcelroy came in had more to do with our fans actually cheering for the team and our team rallying around that, the run game is what won us the game, Mcelroy comes in, everyone gets excited, the teams starts playing with fire, the Oline creates holes for our backs, the run game is successfull, and the run game opens up the pass game, which wasnt terribly impressive. McElroy did a great job though he played very well.
Rex Ryan has watched Sanchez more than any of us has. I wonder when he came to the realization that Sanchez is actually really bad.
With Holmes back, I don't necessarily expect to see the sort of play we've seen from Sanchez lately in the next season.
Go with McElroy. Sanchez has regressed to the point that he needs some time on the pine. We literally have nothing to lose by seeing what GMC can do.
