If Mawae is going, why is Kendall still a Jet? His cap hit is higher, the savings are greater if he is cut, and he is also on the downside of his career.
He's a few years younger, and he'll probably restructure. He will be the veteran leader on the line. Either that or it's just a Massachusettes conspiracy between he and Mangini.
Exactly as GreenGeek pointed out. He is younger, and we need to have a capable vet provide leadership on the line. He's the perfect person to do it. As much as I loved Mawae, this was the right thing to do.
If Kendall is kept, I think it will be because of the fact that he not only brings veteran experience and leadership to a group of guys that are all significantly under 30, but he can also play more than one position on the line. This gives the team options come draft day. They can draft the best guard or center available.
I am pretty sure Kendall was hurt alot before he came to the Jets. He has stayed pretty healthy the last 2 years though.
If Pennington had a noodle for an arm, not only would he not have a hand, but he wouldn't be able to hold a ball either. He would also look pretty odd. I think he may just have a weak arm.
you guys loved chad a few years ago.....give him the benefit of the doubt.....we are better off having a healthy penny and filling more holes than having no penny and placing all our eggs in one basket with a high draft pick....
1. Kendall can play guard and center 2. Kendall's younger 3. Kendall is probably willing to take a pay cut when Mawae isn't All of that said, I'd hardly consider Kendall a sure thing to survive cutdown day on Sunday
