No I meant likie towards the sideline out of bounds, obviously the 1st thought in your mind is don't let them get a TD no matter what. He did the right thing but I was so pissed after we lost I didn't remember the exact sequence of events that led to the safety other him jacking up the handoff and kicking it out of the endzone.

Vince Wilfork was 3 feet behind him....what would you have done? You ever tried to pick up a bouncing football and get out of trouble 2 yards from the boundary and with your back to the defense? Yeah, he should have picked it up and thrown it......give me a break

The penalty would of occurred if it was intentional grounding which would have been scored as a safety. Other than that, no penalty on an incomplete pass provided its not picked off.

That was a very smart play by Sanchez. For him to avoid an intentional grounding penalty in that instance, he would have to be able to throw the ball past the line of scrimmage. Since he was running after the ball away from the line of scrimmage, no way in hell would he be able to pick it up and throw it in the opposite direction that far. He did not have the space, time nor the momentum, probably the most important thing.

Sanchez doesnt know where the defenders are at that moment. It's obviously a blown up play, his back is to everyone and since he doesnt have eyes in the back of his head he has to kick the ball out of the end zone and prevent the Pats from possibly turning it into a defensive TD.
