On 2 plays that he was in, the strong safety cheated to the linebackers when they were playing cover 2. It might have been a good time for a play action to himself (like he did at Florida) and try to hit one deep. Though the only guy that was going to have single coverage was Chaz Schillens, and he was awful yesterday.

The Jets may have very few passing plays for Tebow. They probably don't practice them much if at all. So maybe they would be foolish to go in unprepared and give Tebow passing plays during the game? I don't know. I would give Tebow a chance to throw in practice with the starters. If he can throw, he is more of a threat to run also. Right now, Tebow is one dimensional because he's only called on to run.

Tebow didn't throw it because he sucks at throwing. The better question is why didn't they let him run the read option on third and fucking one from the three yardline instead of calling a ridiculous slant to our 5th WR?

For one thing, the "read option" would be a poor choice there, as it is a slower developing play. He should have run a QB dive just like most of his other successful short yardage plays.

All righty then. QB dive it is. My point is picking up one yard on the ground is pretty much what we all know he can reliably do.

Yeah - barring the OL getting stuffed - I can't see them not picking that up. At worst run it on 3rd down and then decide if you want to kick the FG.

P.S. At least with Tebow at QB and going empty they have to consider he can pass and run. Sanchez ain't gonna run in that spot.

Sanchez has actually run for a bunch of touchdowns, some of them on designed QB draws. The man has some skills.

Fair enough - seems like a better option that empty backfield non play action pass.

Both plays I think were designed for Tebow to see if he could hit a quick throw, if not run it. I think he has option to throw it there if someone is wide open, otherwise take the 2-4 yards and go to 2nd and 6.
