Obviously, this was a devastating loss. However, we have a pretty easy schedule coming up for the remainder of the season. Looking at it, the only game which will most likely be a loss is the Pats again. Arizona and the Chargers are toss-ups. Every other game is a extremely likely win. Our offense (sans Sanchez) are gelling together. Our defense is performing a lot better than expected without Revis. Our special teams has been pretty consistent as well. Tebow has to be more involved, though.
Well we need to win next week against Miami. If we get that and are 4-4, I could see a 9-7 or 10-6 season which would get us playoffs. If we lose against Miami, I see a 7-9 or 6-10 season.
There will be some tough games, but there are no teams on the remaining schedule who are elite. Every game is winnable. If the Jets can with the rest of their division games that's 6 wins. Throw in four more and they can make the playoffs and even win the division. That said, the Jets going 7-2 the rest of the way? Ehh, not so sure there. At this point, I'd be surprised if the Jets make the playoffs this year.
This keeps getting repeated over and over again each week. I've finally accepted the fact that he is a pure PR stunt. He will be trotted on the field 3-5 plays a game to run it up the middle against a stacked box for 2-4 yards and THAT'S IT. I'd be shocked... SHOCKED... to see him utilized any more than that from here on out. Quite disappointing.
I don't think the Jets are far off the mark. If one or two things go well, I think they could really make a good run. If Sanchez settles in a bit and starts hitting people in stride... if Stephen Hill comes into his own and rids himself of the dropsies... if Coples or Mo Wilks takes the next step... if Sparano or Pettine adjust their playcalling a bit better... This team could be off and running.
A few weeks ago I thought the 2nd half of the schedule was much easier, but not anymore. Look at weeks 10-13 and tell me which one of those games you "know" we are going to win. Then we have the fast improving Titans in week 15. We CAN win them, but how much are you willing to bet that we will win them?
A devastating loss? We lost to the pats by three in OT in a game almost everybody agreed we would lose. Even though we didn't pick up the W the team played a lot better than expected. Tebow has no business being anything but our punt protector. Those wildcat plays are inefficient. The Tebow-as-QB plays are inefficient. Sticking him as TE or RB has been inefficient. No thanks. Let him just be the backup QB with a clipboard and the punt protector.
There are no games against any team in the league that you "know" you will win. Even teams with 0 or 1 win upset top end teams. It happens. All of the games are winnable considering none are against elite teams. That's what it is and it's the only ray of light that the Jets have right now. At the rate that they're going, I'm not sure I can see them winning 7 of 9 games. The Jets will have to play at a level beyond what we've seen so far if they want to be better than 8-8 this year.
The Rams are a sure win. The Hawks are going to be tough at their place. The Patriots will be far easier at our place.
I would never bet on this team or any team to certainly win, its football. But realistically the 2nd half of the schedule, going 5-3 isn't too unrealistic. If we beat Miami, that meant we went BUF, PIT, MIA, SF, HOU, NE, MIA at 4-4. I don't think we are going to play a team as good as SF or HOU on the second half. I think SEA at home is equivalent to PIT at PIT. That means 5-3 is possible and not unreasonable
he cannot make the throws like sanchez did today. can he do more than the jets have used him for?yes. but no way in hell does he make some of the rhrows sachez made to kerley today.
Were a sos so team who may go 8/8. Todays game we could have won. I no longer think the patriots are as good as years past. I don't feel great about an almost win
I feel a hell of a lot better today than I did after the last couple weeks. The AFC stinks and the Jets have looked like a decent team three straight weeks. Beat Miami next week, get to 4-4, 3-1 at the bye, and hope to go on a run after the break. Jets don't have many games down the stretch where you look at them and think, "This will be a very difficult game to win." We've played 4 of those in our first 7 games, and lost all of them. Seattle and New England are the only two on the docket left like that.
The Jets are somewhere in the middle of the league. We aren't great, we aren't terrible. The good news is, there are very few truly elite teams in the league, and virtually all of the teams left on our schedule are just as ordinary as we are. The bad news is, we are likely looking at an 8-8 or 9-7 season and another year finishing in no man's land. We won't finish poorly enough to garner a high, potentially franchise-changing first round draft pick, and we won't win the Superbowl and satisfy our never-ending, forever-enduring, burning desire to finish number one.
No, but with a lot of young players gaining valuable experience, we could be able to take a nice step forward next year. And you never know with this year. Just going to try to enjoy the ride and hope the Jets win Sunday and make the rest of the season compelling.
lmao that people say the rest of the schedule is easy, Chargers are jekel and hyde like def can beat us, Arizona's defense is no joke and will give Sanchez fits, Seahawks are playing lights out defense beating the three best offenses in the league, Saints,Packers,Patriots i could see that game getting ugly quick on the road.Miami could go either way we were a missed field goal away from losing that game in ot.Buffalo should be a gimmie but who knows ,The Patriots at home is a toss up,The Rams sounds winable but those games we normally lose and there defense is good as well, the Titans have alot of talent and can do things. I can see every one of these teams beating us on any given day
Honestly, I feel much better about this team after today, than I felt about it before today. The showed resilience against one of the best team in the NFL. Yeah we lost, but we played far better than the Pats on both sides of the ball.
