No, but I also expect more yardage through the air. My bigger issue is after a dominant win, in which we controlled the line if scrimmage on both sides of the ball, some people only take away from it that we did not light them up in the passing game. Mark has been good and bad throughout his career. He's not in the top of the qb ranks and at times looks down right awful, but has also made key plays in wins and come from behind and won on the final drive a few times for us. Would we be better off with Aaron Rodgers or some one of that caliber? Sure, but he is our qb and not the sole reason for our winning or losing each week.
we still do nothing well, other then maybe special teams play. we are a threat to lose every single week. 8-8 alone will be tough to reach. yes we lost to 3 better teams, problem is there are at least 5 more games vs better teams(pats twice, seattle, arizona, san diego)
Funny stuff... I agree though I think if the Jets can continue to play teams with Rush defenses in the bottom 10% or so theyll just dominate...oh the Pats run D....top 20%
Seeign as you through the carsd in there I'm guessing you have not watched them at all in the last few weeks. Thier offense is a complete disaster and they have the worst Oline in the league by far. Its like watching 5 Wayne Hunters at once. Not saying it will not be a close game, buts its one that can easily end up at 3-0 by the end.
We're going to have to throw a lot at some point this sunday. If we lose big, and I think we will but still hopeful, the board will go off the deep end. Then after we beat Miami, (who'll have a better record than us going into the game) the general opinion will be optimistic going into the bye 4-4. Regardless of what happens sunday, everyone needs to relax because it's a long season. Just think back to 45-3.
Did it not just win last week? You can't just single out 1 stat like that. What we did on offense last game was good. What the defense did was good. The game isn't won or lost by 1 player. Let's try this again. I'll be slow so you can understand. I know it's hard to put aside your blind hatred for Sanchez, but think about what you said. You ignored all other game stats and instead focus on the one aspect that COULD be interpreted negatively. This is why your loyalty was brought into question and you were labeled a clown. That is the equivalent of trolling. That's just as bad as what all the beat writers bring up. When your running game dominates, and the defense creates turnovers and short field situations, passing yards will be lower. That's how the goddamn game of football works. Sanchez' QB rating for the game says you're dead wrong. If he had under 50% comp, abysmal QB rating and turnovers, you MIGHT have a point. But he didn't, so you don't. Thanks for playing. Sanchez had a great game, anybody who doubts that didn't watch it. Sorry to hurt your feelings, but when people say shit like that, it needs to be corrected in a way they can remember. BTW, the pats forum is around the corner.
Blah, blah, blah. Sorry but some are freaking out some aren't. It's football. We're fine or we're not. Sanchez is good or he is not. We can't run or tackle. or can we? None of know till the season is over. How many threads do we need like this? Start an herb garden or a paper route. There is nothing wrong with nothing to talk about. It's when there really is something to talk about when we should start worring. Or celebrating. Right now, we have neither.
Im watching Sportsnation and this stupid bitch Clarissa always shits on the Jets, it's very anoyying, (this has nothing to do with this thread) She always makes us out to be a big fuckin joke, its so anooying people give us no chance against the Patriots, they are 4-3 all time vs Rex's Jets and the media acts like we have never beaten them before
First off...I happen to like Sanchez. I think he's capable of taking the Jets to the Super Bowl. My comments on the "82 yards" was not a dig on him, it's directed at the people that think that's gonnna be enough to win every game from here on out. It just won't. How many NFL games were won this year with under 100 yrds. passing? I'm guessing one. There's going to be games where the running game just ain't clicking or the defense shits the bed. Sanchez will need to play better in order to win those games. It's not just my opinion...Dan Marino said the exact same thing after the Colts game. Can Sanchez step up and play like a 4th year, 1st round pick should? Time will tell...but to call the game he had against the Colts "great" just shows me that it's you, Barcs, who has little to no faith in Mark Sanchez's ability to play better than he has this year. You just like him cause he's sexy hot. Oh...one more thing. Don't ever talk down to me, call me a clown, or question my worthiness to root for the Jets. I've been a NY Jets fan since 1965. My family has had season tickets since 1960. So can that crap. And if you want to school me on football, you better step up your game.
Why do people look so hard into stats in a sport like football? Linemen get blamed in a 3-4 defense for not having enough sacks, Sanchez gets blamed for throwing for 82 yards when the jets would have probably one without throwing a single ball.. Stats are overrated, watch the game and judge performances. It's an more accurate representation.
