And you really think McKnight with a high ankle sprain or Powell with a shoulder issue would really be better than a guy of the street? I don't.
Having Cro return kicks worries me too. I have been impressed with the next-man-up football the Jets have been playing but losing Cro would likely be the straw that breaks the camel's back. The thing is, Cro is a really good return guy...
If they decide to use a CB returning kicks, God let it be Wilson, not Cro. Wasn't he supposed to have some value as KR coming out of college? Only way I want to see Cro back there is if it's a desperate, late game scenario, and even that if it's not a playoff game is questionable...
Good thing we cut Ganaway! Not like we could have used a 1500 yard and 21 td (senior year) running back!!! All kidding aside, obviously there was no way to know this team was going to be this decimated by injuries, but I had hoped that Ganaway would have stuck. He was definitely legit last year.
If they did decide to use Wilson back there I would wait until after this game and the bye week. The last thing we need is an inexperienced guy returing kicks against Bellichick. You know there would be at least one turnover by the ST.
We could do some things with Tebow, but with 2 RBs (possibly a 3rd, wouldn't be surprised if we signed someone by tomorrow), it could be hard to get a huge Tebow package going.
Have any of you tards ever got an ankle sprain let alone a high ankle sprain? From my days of varsity basketball after a bad ankle sprain you can barely walk or walk without a serious limping pain. Sometimes you could barely stand up
Run a 1-2 with Greene and Grimes; the killer G'S! Mix in some more Tebow, I would take a run fake and pass this weekend from Timmy!
While this is a negative (especially Joe McKnight; he's a big loss), it gives this kid Grimes an opportunity to show what he's made of, and at the RB position thats fun to watch. The only way to find a diamond in the rough is to have the opportunity to look through the rough.
Should have Tebow line up next to Sanchez and take some direct snaps........ With the threat to throw of course.
Cromartie has been playing great. But be careful, last time we chose to promote a guy because he stepped up for an injured vet, we ended up with Wayne Hunter. Let's see that he can keep up this level of play.
Right on, I wasn't advocating Wilson, I was just using him as a preference over using Cro. Personally, I'm of the mindset of no turnovers first on punts/kicks. One reason why I always like Leonard returning punts. The chance of him breaking a long one off was miniscule, but equally miniscule was the chance of him fumbling...
Greene and Grimes should be enough, we're gonna have to throw the ball anyway since Brady's gonna light us up
Not happy for the injuries at all, but this is a great chance to see Grimes, so that in the least excites me.
I agree with using Tebow more this game more to supplement the run game than anything else. I really think we should try to take some more deep shots in this game with Hill and Cromartie. Pull out all the stops here-
