Keller was injured the 3rd game of the preseason in AUGUST, it is now october and he still can't play?!?!? WTF?!?!?!
What we all need to understand is that there are many different kinds of Hamstring injuries. Was this a grade 1, 2, or 3? I dont think it has been reported. The way he went down in the Bills game (after he pulled it in the pre-season) leads me to belive it was more of a grade 2 or 3. In contrast, Stephen Hills looed like a grade 1 strain (micro tears). a grade 3 is an all out rupture (like Evan Longoria had this season and he was out like 5-6 weeks), I would bet this is what Dustin had in the pre-season, came back too soon and and re-injured in week one to a grade 2. Regarding conditioning, yes the guys were in shape and lost weight this pre-season to become "faster". WHat we also need to understand is that most likley this conditioning wasnt "quick twitch" activities; more cardio. Football is all about BURST and if players werent participating in the quick twitch activities the incidence for a mussle pull in greatly increased.
We are all used to seeing injuries to players. What we aren't used to is seeing seemingly every one of our receivers suffering the "same" hamstring injury. That's what had me bewildered. On other teams you might see 2 or 3 hamstring issues in an entire season. We have more than that every freaking week. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
800+ yds per yr is 800 + yds per yr. Who gives a crap how he gets them or the fact he doesn't make an 'amazing catch' whatever that means. Keller is dependable and and Mark's go to guy. Most importantly, he would also be our best receiver now if he played. I honestly have no idea wtf is up with him. I can't imagine this is a simple hammy injury since he's been out the better part of 5 weeks (including preseason games). You hate to question an NFL player's toughness, but he's starting to cross over that line.
This is exactly what I was getting at Yahoo. Thank you MarkyMark for clearing up this mess. I was too bone-idle (and rushed for time) to look up his stats. There is a reason Mark Sanchez likes him on the field. They have good chemistry when they play together, he picks up yards in order to get first downs, and he's fairly effective in the red zone. I understand why people are getting irate that he isn't back, but maybe it is because the injury is more serious than the media knows. Only the training staff can know that. Like I said. Mark Sanchez's go to guy.
Seems like ever since our coach proclaimed this his best roster since he has been here........ Every one of our best players are getting hurt.... WTF man??? Who is it gonna be next ??? Mangold? Moore? or how about big wilk? OMFG...
The Jets had been relatively lucky injury wise the first two years under Rex. Last year wasn't too bad either, they just had no O line depth to counter it. This year I think it's evening out. It's one of those random things. Revis was non contact, Santonio was non contact. Rash of injuries offensively, a lot of nicked up players defensively and we don't have the depth/talent to hide it. It was bound to happen, you don't sray injury free forever, just like you end up stop intercepting every pass you bat into the air, and you stop recovering every fumble you drop on the ground.
