I'd like to see some depth chart changes and defensive scheme modifications.

Powell to be named starter (not just getting more snaps) - We need someone in there who is a threat in the pass game on 1st and 2nd down. Greene can spell Powell now and again on early downs, maybe McKnight on later downs. I'd also like to see McKnight used more in underdog games. He might have the fumble tag attached to him, but he can make plays, and we need plays against teams like the Texans who can contain the conventional run game.

Coples to start - Coples showed me enough that he won't be a liability in the run game. He has the athleticism and speed as well than plays that go to the edges, something the Jets fail at stopping, could indeed be less disastrous for the Jets D. In my honest opiniong, the Jets contained Gore fairly well (I was betting against him to get over 80 yards). For their starter, he was fairly ineffective in the YPC count, and though he made some nice runs out of nothing, he wasn't the killer blow. It was Kendall Hunter who proved yet again that we can't contain the run at the edge. Throw in Kaepernick, and things went to hell. I honestly don't get why he isn't being used more. Are they scared his confidence will get shaken if he has a bad game starting or something?

More DeMario Davis - I'd like to see him used more. I actually think Bart Scott has been holding his own this season, but our linebackers are still a liability against the pass. Maybe he can bring some leadership to the team over time given some playing time. It could even be that he spells Harris, who seems to have struggled for some reason this season.

Ducasse over Slauson - Slauson can't pull. That much is evident now. From preseason, Ducasse seemed to do a better job of this, and actually looked like an NFL player for once. I was originally thinking that he should replace Moore, but with Howard on the right side, it could be too much inexperience on one side of the line. Ducasse could give us that extra push to really open up holes for our RBs, who really do need it. Any help to the run game would be great.

More 4-3 and 46 over 3-4 - With such a shaky linebacking corps and with Revis out, I really hope they begin employing more 4 man fronts again. They have such depth at DL that it just makes sense. Maybe even employ 5-2 for early downs when it makes sense? I'd love to see combinations of Coples, Ellis, Pouha, Wilkerson, and Maybin. They'd provide some serious pass rushing threat (Pouha would be more about eating up a couple of blockers).

Reorganize WR depth chart - I really don't want to see Kerley at the #2 WR spot. He seems to excel at the slot position, and Chaz seems to be fairly proficient along the sideline. Having Chaz and Hill on the field at the same time provides some serious deep threat in 2 WR sets, and if they can gain themselves some separation would open things up for Keller in 2 WR sets and also Kerley in 3 WR sets.

So basically Mark can be really good if everything goes perfect?

I'll be honest , its a suck situation. I think Tebow is a joke , but Mark has had his shot. He's been babied his entire career. Better QBs have done more with less. 4 years in and wrs still winning despite him. Not bc of him.

This season is over imo. I know everyone hates hearing it. Truth we have no chance to beat good teams. That's what you need to do in league. You have to beat the Pats , Texans , 49ers etc.

My bigger concern is how can we have any faith in Tanny and Rex after the sunk this ship? It was ear years ago Mark didn't have it. It amazes me some thought he was any good. Both of those guys only thought about the short term. It was no secret what their plan was. They loaded up on old vets and went all in. Those guys are slow and simply won't cut it. How can we have any faith in the guys that put this team together? How can we have any faith in the guys that drafted so bad? That gave huge contracts to Scott , Holmes and Marky Mark.

Seriously , who is accountable here?

Or are we just going pretend everything will be ok and keep posting :shit: this?

Im a Tebow fan, but lets face it, the biggest slouch on offense is Shonn Greene. Averaging 2.8 yards per carry as a feature back? That is absolutely pathetic, and i watched the games, and there wholes to run in, yet he runs into his own blocker lol. Also in the Wildcat, he is absolutely useless, he is SOOO slow! The second biggest slouch is Matt Slauson, he guy can't pull at all. In some of the runs for Tebow and the other running backs, he absolutely misses people or dosn't even know who to block. He needs to be benched. The third slouch are the wide receivers, they can't catch or get separation. This offense needs Dustin Keller back.

On defense, I would make a complete overhull. Play younger faster guys like Davis, Maybin and Coples. Also bench Pace, Thomas and David Harris, the highest paid player on the team. they look absolutely pathetic out there.

Before I call Mark Sanchez a slouch, lets make these changes and see how he performs, and my gut feeling is that he will play better.

And this is the shit I'd have rather left out of this thread.

No one really cares for your negative remarks. You think the season is done, cool. You don't need to come in here and state that. What benefit does that have towards this thread? I could really care less whether you think this season is over or not.

No one said everything is ok. Any real fan would accept that there are much bigger problems but keep pushing at it. Why give up? What does that solve? For all any of us know, we can come out firing this weekend and completely shock the world. Just as we did after the 45-3 massacre. It blows my mind how you and many other fans are just giving this thing up when we are 2-2 and 2-0 in the division entering the 5th week of the season. Blows my mind

^^The answer to your OP is no, I don't think he can breathe life intoi this team..he has no talent. He doesn't have a QB, a RB or a WR worthy of a starting role in the NFL. His best players on defense and offense are gone for the year...what is it you expect Ryan or anybody else to accomplish with this sad lot?

Disagree i feel like the deep ball is where mark and tebow excel. Its the fact that we have no one gettinng deep to catch. There were 2 plays last week that would have been TDs if hill isnt injured and could catch the ball. Same w the holmes almost td this week. Perfectly thrown ball deep but an amazing play by the db. Also sanchez worst throws have been the short timing routes, hard to do w revolving wrs. Feel like, its been a different subset of records each week.

This was RE: we need more dink and dunk passing. Quote didnt come through

Have the offense run gassers, so they can be as tired as our defense was Sunday.

I'm not sure how anyone could construe it as a good idea to give two days off to a team that has been playing soft and basically quit on Sunday.

Just speaking from my experience with amateur sports ( soccer pick up leagues and what not ), if I play a shit game, The last thing I want to do is sit around for 2 days with nothing to do but think about it, You just end up dwelling on missed plays and "should have, could have"s. Maybe this will serve this team well as we really look like we needed a gut check in the third quarter last week. Maybe some guys will come out with some fire.

At this point we really cant look any worse then we did Sunday and we're still 2-2.

Also with playing on Monday this may have been a scheduled day off even before the stomping. Most weeks players get the day after the game off anyway and this still leaves us with plenty of time to prep for the Monday game.

It was probably more for the coaching staff than the players. Rather than going through the normal routine they get to sit down and concentrate on the question that is on everyone's mind: "what the fuck are we doing and how do we fix it?".

I think you hope they are thinking about it instead of shopping, drinking, site seeing.
