I wouldn't take Tim Tebow over Sanchez. I'd take just about anyone else's starter and a lot of backups though.
If Johnson would do what he should do and fire Tannenbaum Sanchez wouldn't have 1 game left as the starter.
It's an impossible question to answer b/c RIGHT NOW sanchez is struggling and had very few weapons. If all things are equal this list looks very different. If we put Brady or Rodgers on our current team we'd still be 2-2, it may have been a prettier 2-2 as we probably beat up Miami but nothing is changing in pitt or vs. SF.
Maybe with us but there's no doubt he would be able to hold down a starting job at teams like the Browns or Jaguars.
Are we really going to just blame this all on Sanchez? Are we all forgetting about the Jets awful running game, or awful receivers? Or how about the weak O-Line the Jets have. Heck, look at the TE's, Cumberland and Epps. I doubt any QB can make the Jets offense look good.
I agree with what TwentyFour said. Honestly, I really don't understand why people are so down on Sanchez. Take a look at Eli Manning in his 4th year. Do you all remember when Manning was getting berated by his Giants following in 2007? Remember when their GM called him "skiddish"? He then went on to win the Superbowl against our most hated *19-0 rivals (heh). Honestly, if you give the kid some time to throw and receivers to throw to, he'd perform well. The problem is when you have receivers like "Give Me The Ball" Holmes and rookies like Stephen Hill and new Jets like Schillens, who aren't yet on the same page, and your best TE and go to receiver is out with a hammy, how can you perform successfully?! You can't. Believe me, after last week's shitty performance, I am by NO means giving Sanchez a pass for his atrocious play time. But by the same token, he was going against one of the best defenses in the league. If Sexy Rexy had what the 49ers have (ie: good receivers, a good RB, and a stout defense) and Sanchez was under center, this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. We all seem to forget that we've had troubled time with Sanchez before. This isn't the first time we've taken a shellacking (45-3 Pats loss). We'll recover. Mangold was on WFAN this morning and he said it's a "bump in the road". Quite frankly, I think it's a little more than a "bump" but we WILL come out of this OK and rebound. :shit:
you are new here but that tends to happen, the board looks for a scapegoat and ravages them. It was once Vinny then Hackett, Herm, Chad Pennington, Mangini, Brian Schottenheimer and now mark Sanchez. Never mind his top weapon has been out, he lost his next best weapon, his other starting WR was out, his OL stinks, he has no run game but according to the wolves it's all Mark's fault.
This team's performance is clearly not all mark's fault . . . any objective observer would have to acknowledge this. However, like it or not, Sanchez deserves a significant portion of the blame. People are inherently reactionary and fickle, but in this case, most people are just reacting to what their eyes tell them (and have told them for the entire duration of Sanchez's short, tumultuous career): Mark Sanchez is a below average quarterback. His statistical performance has consistently ranked among the bottom third of quarterbacks in the league, since he's been in the NFL. Your constant, persistent, and forever-enduring defense of Sanchez is admirable, but ultimately misguided. So far, by any objective standard, Mark's individual performance in the NFl has been a major disappointment. He has a career completion percentage of 54.8% and a career quarterback rating of 72.9. He has 72 total touchdowns (60 passing and 12 rushing) and 68 total turnovers (55 interceptions and 13 lost fumbles). He is now in his fourth year as a full-time starter. The time for excuses is over. It's time to accept the reality that , if his individual performance does not begin to drastically improve this season, this will be his last year as the starting quarterback for this franchise. It's time to demand and expect something better than mediocrity from Mark Sanchez I like Mark Sanchez and I still firmly believe in his talent and potential to become a good quarterback, but it's time to stop pretending like he never has to do so.
stats don't tell us everything though, right now he's a bottom tier QB, as a rookie he was but in 2010 he was a borderline top 10 guy and last year middle of the pack. It's hard to succeed w/ no OL, no run game and no receivers
id take the following. everyone else is either awful or puts us in the same position we were 3 years ago with a guy who could be decent but probably never becomes someone who makes guys around him better. i think we are 3-1 or maybe 4-0 with brady or rodgers. no we we only score 10 on pittsburg with those 2 guys and the 49ers game would be alot different those 2 guys just dont make many mistakes, and dont miss many throws. they also make guys look a whole lot better and put defense on their heels
Pitt scored 27, we we scoring more than 17 more points and having the D hold Pitt down? we have many problems on O, we'd improve w/ the great ones like Brady but we wouldn't have a better record.
KOLB wasn't even the starter this season he is in as a backup - yet I would take him in a second. He is way better than Mark?
