Bottom line is 2-2 in a iffy division is still too soon to give it all up. The defense did play well for a while today. But they could only bend for so long before breaking. But I think we can pretty much count on a good performance by the D most weeks. The offense on the other hand is putrid, out of sync, and just plain bad. Sometimes it's sanchez, other times it's boneheaded drops. No rushing attack at all...stupid turnovers There are some guys available. Holmes is likely out for the year....but Gaffney is out there, coming off 68 catchers last year. Maybe Bowe from KC? Kellen Winslow?
Because of cap issues for next year, the Jets aren't making any significant signings. They want to drag the cap $$ they have ($6 Million I believe) over to next year.
Its too late to bring someone in now and think its going to save this season - this season was done as soon as it was apparent that Sanchez has not improved and revis went down. I am not saying tank it, but I really doubt we can do anything to save this year.
Trading picks would be absolutely terrible. If anything, trade our players for picks if by week 8 we are going no where. But then again, why would Tanny care. He shouldnt be here next year.
Guys to start looking to move David Harris- still a good player I think he's better suited in a 4-3 D though TBH Kyle Wilson- strike before the iron gets too cold Sione Pouha- valuable to a team like Houston in the playoffs to stop the run bettert than Cody Shonn Greene- could be valuable to a team late in the season/playoffs just not for us
you are absolutely correct! i go back to what i said during the summer. start mcelroy and get rid of tanneybum. btw: the rams are 2-2 under shotty. is he a genius? or, do the rams have a better staff picking the draft choices, in addition to the offensive coordinator? the jets should clean house at the gm and scouting dept. sparano and sanchez should go also. with the trade deadline at week 8, the jets should be sellers. however , with the albatross contracts tannenbum gave to sanchez and holmes and scott, good luck getting even a 7th. :shit:
you mean you don't think the Jets can simply play out the season as is trying to win games? the only options are to trade for receivers or they are intentionally losing? news flash, most players have an inherent interest in performing well, which is more evident when the team wins. so why would the player's try to tank the season?
We have no talent to trade. It's that bad. Edit- we'll we do, but man are they overpaid. No one will want.
if holmes comes back, hill and keller and they smarten up and give powell some more time we might be more productive than today. i dont think pro atheletes are going to tank 3/4 of a season for the possibilty of their replacements
Trade for some talent -- there's no point in waiting. It's not like you get through a tanked season and everything starts getting better with one draft. If the roster isn't working, try to improve it now. Play every struggling season like you're trying to string together some wins, finish .500 or above, and get to the playoffs. Anything can happen, plus you stay out of the ranks of the eternal dumpster fires like the Bills and Rams.
