I'm seating here cracking up. I can't believe that just happen. Shame on the NFL owners, and Goodell. Shame.
I bet their ratings didn't go down a notch. Maybe the diehards and the blowhards will stop watching but for every one of those there will be another drama fiend. The long term effects of this are dangerous though IMO. The NFL risks the problem the NBA faces--where no matter how fairly the game is officiated, fans always point to the officials no matter what. The NFL never had this problem in the past. I guess we'll see.
Fucking horseshit call, but these pussy Packers fans act like they never get calls. Fuck them. Fuck them all, especially for them throwing Favre under the bus. Bandwagon fucks
If they announce the refs names at games, they are gonna get a standing ovation in GB when the old guys come back.
The Greatest Show On Earth! The Biggest Circus in the United States of America is the National Football League (NFL)! What an act! What a sad barrel of laughs! It is NOT the NY Jets.
I can see why one ruled it a TD. The ref arrived late and seen a mini fight for the ball. The reg. refs would of called a TD if they were slow to get on top of the play which in the past they have. This is going to get blown up because 1. Its GB 2. ESPN MNF 3. Everyone is getting tired of the refs. But lets not forget, the reg refs suck ass too.
Could you imagine the whole season of this crap going on.. Or the playoffs !? Or the friggin Super Bowl ! This is getting scary-bad !
The regular refs aren't great, but at least they keep control of the games, and at least they know the fucking rules. Forget about getting in the right position and making the right call -- you can't convince me that every official on the field tonight even knew the simultaneous possession rule. The replacement refs have advanced the cause of labor more than anyone since Cesar Chavez.
I was getting the willies just thinking about late-season games being like this earlier today, never mind the playoffs.
You are correct, it does. It's not like tie goes to the receiver. If it's caught by both, and one snatches it away, it goes to the player who takes possession. I thought GB won on both counts. Initial pick and obvious possession. Weird.
YEP! Double Karma Revenge McCarthy's crying that he's never seen anything like that before in football. I guess he forgets about the game against the Jets in 2010 where it happened TWICE to his team's benefit. FIRST - Trayvon Williams ripping the ball out of Jericho Cotchery hands after he was down. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81bbe90a/Williams-picks-Sanchez SECOND - Charles Woodson ripping the ball from Dustin Keller's hands while Keller was down after making the catch. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81bbfcc5/Woodson-INT SUCK IT MIKE MCCARTHY!
The thing that bothers the most on the call was that the rules states during simultaneous possession the offensive player gets the possession. In this case I can understand the ruling on the field but after the replay it really leaves very little, to no doubt that CB had possession. I can't see how it was given to the Tate .
Yeah could you imagine the jets season ending on a hailmary that's given to the receiver who initially catches the ball but loses control as he hits ground... And after 15minutes of review gets the rule wrong and we lose ! Oh wait a minute ... That already happened !
TJ Lang @TJLang70 Got fucked by the refs.. Embarrassing. Thanks nfl $100,000 fine or suspension coming?
Even aside from the fiasco at the end, there were several badly blown calls each way, especially when it came to pass interference (ones that were called that shouldn't have been, and ones that weren't called that should have been).
