If anybody is THAT certain about the outcome of this game, they should bet every dime they own on the Jets. I mean, if this is written in stone, then you would be a FOOL not to do this. If you don't, I figure there is some doubt that you aren't being entirely honest about.
Bush has turned into a good running back. He's a little worrisome, but with Revis back, the Jets will just go all out in stopping the run. If they make their tackles, which hopefully won't be an issue early in the game, they can force 3rd and longs and make Tannehill throw into coverage. Then, the Jets could get some turnovers, and it could turn into a rout if the Jets convert field position into touchdowns. I could also see a game where we keep putting the offense in good situations but they can't convert. Bush breaks a long TD run, and we're in a sloppy game where we may win or lose, and we probably get tired in the heat late in the game where we can't get a big stop late. I'd be shocked if Miami could get consistent offense in this game. They make break a long score when we get caught in a bad matchup, especially with a guy like Bush, but they won't be able to string long drives together. The question is can the Jets score 3 touchdowns. Get 3 touchdowns, we should win this game. Anything less, and Miami could linger around, and it could become scary.
Playing against a rooke QB and coach...if the jets lose it will show you are looking at a top 5 draft pick next year.
Seeing as Houston, a much more explosive offense than ours, managed just 3 touchdowns against Miami, and every single one was set up by a Miami turnover in their own territory, I highly doubt it, unless our defense is very opportunistic like Houston's was. I think we'll win because at the end of the day we are the better team, but not by much. 16-13, 17-13, 17-10, etc.
The Jets/Fins rivalry is similar to the Yankees/Rays in a way nowadays since these teams from Florida aren't as hated as opposed to the teams from Boston. However, these teams from the Sunshine State can give NY a hard time.
Whether or not the Jets win is irrelevant. We ain't winning shit this season, especially when we can't even beat halfway-decent opponents who are missing two of their best players on defense.
this is one of the games rex had in mind when he said you might see e.smith , bell and landry on the field at the same time. subbing out scott for smith will give us some more speed to get outside and push reggie back to the inside and the teeth of the defense. not worried about the d at all. just hope the oline is ready to play as they will be the key to the game
I hope we get Tebow involved a little more. He was of the few bright spots last week and only saw 3 snaps. Maybe he could play some linebacker or something
The Jets could definitely lose this game. Nobody mentioned the humidity, which will be a factor - the Jets aren't used to it and the Dolphins are used to it. Also, the Jets aren't so great.
I'm already gearing up for basketball season. At least the Knicks have a shot at being halfway-competitive this year. Football season is pretty much over for me at this point.
miami has made that defense look bad more then the other way around in the last few years, so i think you should be worried, also the humidity and heat is something that can't be overlooked
The 2009 games were flukes. This is the year we will sweep you. We beat you in 2010 in the early heat and we'll do it again this year. Sanchez plays better in warm weather. Don't forget this!
