You also have to look at the schedule - NE plays Balt, Hou plays Denver, Pitt goes to Oakland, and Atlanta plays SD - other AFC playoff caliber teams will all go to 1-2 next week. A win puts them at 2-1 with games against top tier teams coming up. Hopefully real refs are back by those games because they were a disaster all over the league today.
I believe we will win next week...it'll be close though. Furthermore I also think we'll be 2-4 after NE. If we want the playoffs were gonna need a push in the second half of the season. It's just so painfully obvious that this team is just average.
Most have us 4-4 at the bye...second half has a lot of winnable games. Would be fine to lose to SF, beat Miamix2, Indy and steal one from NE or Houston. Right now NE is not playing good ball, Hernandez is injured, Brady is getting hit a lot, and their defense is not scary. Houston is solid but the Jets play the run well, and have had luck using revis to shut down Johnson, plus we have never lost to Houston. The SF game is going to be tough....only thing that helps is it is along flight and an early game after a long flight.
Not so much must win as much as you better fuckin' win. Get up 2-0 in the division before any of the other teams meet and you're in the driver's seat. Win at New England and that's icing on the cake. I know they only lost one game, but The AFC East has a chance to be the worst division in the NFL this year, so let's take advantage.
Yes. If we want to be a playoff team, its completely unacceptable to lose a game like this. As far as wins and losses go though, it is important because we can't start our first 5 games, 1-4. Its not going to be easy to win one off of Houston and the 49'ers after the Phins game, so yes it is a must win. Is it going to eliminate us from the playoffs if we lose? Clearly not, but its a game we should win, and if we don't win, we will have to win some of the tougher games to make up for such a bad loss.
Not a must win but definitely a very important game. With the Pats losing and Hernandez out for awhile they look more vulnerable. Pats at Ravens is brutal with the Ravens coming off a loss and playing at home. The Phins have worse receivers than we do. If we put Revis on Hartline who looks like Tannehill's favorite target I feel that we can force a lot of throws there and Revis should be able to get a pick this game. We need to play tough man on their receivers and stack the box on Reggie. Force Tannehill to throw. The way we lose this game is on offense. If we turn the ball over or drop every pass like we did yesterday it could be a lot closer than we all want. If our offense looks like it did week 1 and maybe if Keller is healthy we should be good. I expect to win this game but divisional games on the road are always a toss up. If we can get out to a lead early forcing Tannehill to throw it should be a good day.
I think we will crush Miami. Split San Fran & Houston, 2-2 is fine with me through the first quarter when u look @ our schedule.
Am i the only one who doesnt have us chalked up for 7 wins in the second half of the season? i know the early part of our schedule is tough but i dont think we are good enough to say wins over seattle, arizona, SD and pats at home are all games we should win. even the bad teams we play, most are on the road.
its a division game, a conference game teams that start 1-2 usually miss the playoffs historically we will likely be right around 8-10 wins, and a loss here could put us on the short end of that, meaning no playoffs. id say its a pretty big game
must game, (miami) we will score zero on SF, Houston thinks their year will be tough game prob a loss. miami stinks, they must kill bad teams and go 500 with good teams and maybe sneak into playoff barely
It's not a must win as far as ending our season, but this team imploded last season after a couple of losses we should have won. Losing two in a row early in the season is never good. I think we win big.
This is more of a must 'not lose' game. Losing to the dreads of the NFL could throw any team into a tail spin. And we all know how that feels. When the schedule came out there were 5 obvious 'wins' for the Jets: Bills, Miami, Huston, Miami, and Bills. The other 5 wins needed to reach the promise land will have to be earned.
It's absolutely a must win. Lose this game and barring some unforeseen miracle you're starting the season 1-4 with STILL two games against New England, a trip to Seattle, another game with Miami and now surprisingly interesting games against Arizona and San Diego left on the schedule. At 1-4, you can kiss any chance of the postseason goodbye as you're looking at an at best 8-8 finish and that's not getting a team into the playoffs this year in the AFC, unless the West beats the piss out of each other again. Jets would probably get to 3-5 at the break, then wind up 4-7 after Thanksgiving and you're done. Must get to 4-4 at the Bye and if you lose against Miami, that won't happen.
One of the things about Ryan's term here is he has not been sucessful against Miami considering how bad they have been against everyone else. So that's one thing - let's get a handle on those guys. Division record is important. Can't be hurting that with losses to the fish. Second is the Tebow Factor - a loss here followed by losses to SF and Tex and the Jets will be hearing about changing out Sanchez for Tebow. At 1-4? You bet your ass you will be hearing plenty of that. 2-3 not so much I would hope. Plus they should win. I guess if must win means mathematically eliminated, it is not that, but it is as much of a must win as you can have at this point of the season and givent the schedule.
It's a must win, but far from automatic. The Pfins were great at home last week against a mediocre Raiders squad. And what makes you think our offense is anything but mediocre. We have a QB who is lucky to complete half his passes, partially because we have a running back who can barely outrun the defensive line, let alone a linebacker, an egomaniacal wide receiver and the rest of our receivers couldn't start anywhere else. I think our defense will be really good, but if Revis misses another game, they are far from scary. So I call it a pick em game, but it's a must have because the next two teams are Super Bowl capable.
