45-3 was NOT a bad game....in fact it was a GOOD GAME because it made the much more important playoff game victory over the pats much more epic. 45-3 became irrelevant when the Jets beat them in the playoffs.....absolutely irrelevant.

The Jets lost by 17 but the game was much closer. Some Jets fans are clueless.

Historically, it ended up not mattering, but that was one of the worst games I've ever seen in my life after such hype heading into it. That has to be on the list.

Just as this game might not end up mattering.

Yeah, at that moment, it was one of the worst games I have ever watched. Terrible 3 hours of my life and I watched til the end.

    no way dude

Our D was holding up well until Cromartie just stood there complaining in a freaking 3rd and long while the steelers scored a touchdown

If we had revis it would've been different

Also the Offense was great in the first two possessions, if some whiny baby player actually kept caughting passes it would've been better

I see what the OP is saying. Today was just a slow death and the Steelers pretty much shoved it up Rex's ass in terms of everything he preaches. The Jets were a lazy, lifeless team today.

Its week 2. Calm down. Missing Revis was a huge problem for a defense from the start, offense was in rhythm and than the defense couldn't get off the field and totally messed up our game. It's one game, we killed ourselves more with stupid plays than anything.

It was just a frustrating loss because we couldn't get back in gear, my only thoughts are this:

-Run Defense looked great with Pouha back in there
-We can't cover TEs for shit still.
-Revis not being in changes the complexity of our defense completely
-Our receivers couldn't get open, I think not having keller has a lot to do with that.
-The officiating was awful for the both teams, just brutal.

Worst game in Ryan era was that 10-9 loss to Ravens in 2010 MetLife opener. Ravens sucked big time in that game and Jets still could not win it. I think Sanchez had something like 75 yards passing.

And last year's Giants game where Sanchez threw 85 passes for 126 yards.

And conversely the Giant loss only became particularly hideous because of what happened after that.

You can't compare any regular season loss to 45-3 against your hated rival. If we had missed the playoffs Rex's first year though the Atlanta one at home would have been worse, with what was on the line. That really was a SOJ moment, especially with Gonzalez being wide open on fourth and goal with the game on the line...fortunately circumstance gifted us out of the hole.

The one against the Bills at home where Sanchez had 500 turnovers was pretty bad too, we had like 300 yards rushing and still lost.

Your opinion is your opinion, but there's no way this is the worst game. It's a poorly played loss. Leave it at that. The wound is still fresh, you're probably just reeling from it.

45-3 loss was the worst because we had such high expectations. We were doing so good earlier in the season and thought we might actually have a shot.

The 45-3 loss to the Pats on MNF 2 years ago was the worst overall in the Ryan era. Today's game wasn't like that. The season isn't over just yet, it's only September.

This game came down to a bad play by Cromartie and a fumble by Kerley.

jesus i forgot about that fumble

it was one of the worst plays i've ever seen holy christ, you are going to get the ball near midfield seriously, just do a fair catch for god's sake

The defense had just forced a three and out
    it completely killed our momentum

He took his eye off the ball and it hit him right in the face.

Bart Scott showed he's at the end of his rope. Dude just can't tackle any more. Missed sacks on bberg killed us. They should have been ended drives, but they continued for no reason. David Harris also looked terrible in coverage. He wasn't even close on that touchdown. Cromartie should have easily made the play on that Wallace TD. He had plenty of time to adjust, but somehow fucked it up. That should have been a pick. Landry needs to stop committing penalties! We gave them way too many free yards today. We still suck at stopping the run. That will be a major issue if we can't fix it. We won't beat the Texans or Niners if we can't stop the run.

The worst game of the Ryan era? Seriously? really?

I don't even know what to say to this. It's just appalling. The 45-3 loss I feel like will ive in infamy during the Ryan era. Today, we had recievers dropping passes, our best and focal point of the defense out of the game, I mean...we didn't do great, we sucked but the WORST game of the ryan era? come on, dude.
