I think the choice will be a financial one, not a performance one. If we cut Ramsey don't we take a 4 million dollar hit on the cap?
I was never a Ramsey fan either. It's just that, once upon a time, someone somewhere said he had talent. Keeping him Ramsey would be like holding out hope that your brother didn't steal the prize out of the cereal box before you could go digging.
If I am correct they traded for Ramsey so a cap hit shouldn't have been an issue. So does that mean that the four million dollar hit must be solely based on the one year extensionthat they gave him? If that's the case then that one year extension prior to seeing them in any action seems to be pretty poorly thought out. Me I would keep Bollinger over Ramsey. I thought Bollinger did as good as you could expect last year and provides the better option with the Jets questionable OL.
why cut chad? they're gonna give him one more chance and i'm curious to see if his shoulder healed or not. this season is either going to make or break his career. if we cut chad what will we accomplish?!? are u trying to say that ramsey and bollinger are both better than chad???
the giants have an undrafted qb, lorenzen, who's better than him. hell, you could put sheryl crowe back there and put more points on the board.
Does it really matter?Looks like Ramsey has never recovered from Spurrier's chuck and duck offense and Bollywood is limited Drew Henson is available...just kidding
Not for nothing but how is anybody supposed to know? Mangini has made this a very anemic preseason competition. How could any of you know that Ramsey is any worse than what you have, he hasn't been given a chance to play. BTW, veery qb you have is getting stuffed, not just Pat. Clemens sucked last nite but that seems ok with the jet nation. Pat goes 2-3, 6-9, then doesn't play at all and he sucks. The best thing for Pat is to get cut honestly. He deserves at least a remote chance to play. His career numbers are superior to Carr and Herrington, but they get every break they can. Carr still isn't benched, which is amazing. I realize I am a Ramsey fan but like Spurrier once said- If you kick two field goals that is 6 points. If you throw one td and int that is 7. Ramsey is a 2td 1 int a game type guy. He gets points. The jets are going to be desperate for them this year. But that's ok, cut him and finish 4-12.
QB's A good team should have at least two decent QB's. I think the Jets should let them playoff. Give Kellen the pass as the rookie. Give Chad a couple extra yards for perceived ability. Let the three rotate often during the next one. Make touchdowns worth 30 yards. The one with the most yards per play gets the #2 spot. Cut, the number #4. Keep the #3 until after all the cuts and see what's out there. ........ Give Brad Smith the playbook for QB's. ..Not as the main thing to do. But, he is smart. They should not think about salaries. And keep their goals limited to the next couple years. And, of course show due respect for all of them. .......Just an opinion. Will still be a fan no matter the QB end.
I just watched the game last night and saw how bad the rbs were at picking up the blitz. Both Chad and KC took some hard hits. I say KEEP ALL FOUR we're going to need them.
Mangini has kept both qb's in the public eye (ramsey/bolli) for a good reason (trade). Our 2nd round draft pick just got his audition against the Gianst. Next week we will see Bolli and Ramsey play for a Jet's job. The winner will be Chad's backup with the looser sold to the highest bidder. My Thoughts: Bolli will back up Chad in 2006. Ramsey will be traded away for a 4th or 5th rounder.
:rofl2: Bollinger is the sentimental favorite but Ramsey is a better QB and I don't think that there can be much debate in that (though I'm sure some people on this site will try.) Contrary to popular belief, Bollinger wasn't being held down last year for most of the season by the coaching staff and the team around him--they were being held down by him.
