Throw late and get picked off like Fitzy? Cuz he had a ton of time to throw as well and thre picks on plays he should have made.
Not true, watch the game again. Early on they had our RG Moore helping him out before they realized it wasn't really necessary. This breakdown by Cimini has the number as follows; Howard 1-on-1 vs. Williams -- 13 plays Howard/Moore vs. Williams -- 6 plays Howard, with help from RB chip block -- 2 plays http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/15392/inside-the-game-tebow-the-table-setter I saw another article by a Bills writer that broke it down even better but I can't find it right now. Either way, you have to be worried about Super Mario...
Oh, that happened....one of the reasons to to worry about the Rushing Stats, or the late score. Personally, I think they should stay with the replacment refs, and start coaching up the obvious items. It certainly made the game look more like Football, than overly litigated Flag Football.
Thanks for the post. Its nice seeing a Jets fan respond who actually wants to talk about football instead of get defensive. 1.) Your point on Fitz taking the blame. I actually dont blame Fitz, I blame Gailey for putting Fitz in that situation. We all know what Fitz is: an average QB who can look great at times and horrible at times (like Sanchez). We know that Fitz can only be handed so much before he starts making mistakes. When you know that as a coach, and you make him the focal point of the offense (spread, throwing the ball in 4 receiver sets) against one of the better defenses in the league you are just asking for trouble. Its like blaming the tiger when he eats the circus leader. You shouldnt have put him in that position, and that is on Gailey IMO. 2.) I agree with your take on Mario. His excuses were weak, IMO. I agree with the rest of your points, actually. Bills secondary was horrible. Jets did a good job against the pass. Hill was impressive, etc.
