I know that it's an idiotic statistic that ESPN constantly tries to shove down our throats, but damn. He would have been perfect if not for the INT
I can't tell if you personally are joking because a lot of people have made jokes about that but I do think it is a little bit true. Maybe not Tebow but definitely the taste of defeat Mark had has really made him focus. The guy has always worked hard but looks like a different player this year physically and mentally. Tebow took him to the weight room and Mark has come out looking a lot stronger. His ball has a little bit more zip on it which is nice to see. I think all the media scrutiny and the way he felt after the end of last season has helped Sanchez turn the corner. I've always been a Sanchez supporter so I always believed he'd turn that corner sooner or later. This might just have helped him turn it about a little bit sooner.
Yesterday was a breath of fresh air. I knew Sanchez had a renewed focus and more confidence in the preseason, but it was outstanding how he had command of the offense. This is the best I've seen him look in a while. Sparano did a great job calling this game and now we have to take this momentum and pull out a win against Pittsburgh.
http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...gory=PASSING&d-447263-s=PASSING_PASSER_RATING NFL.com has him at 6.
Glazer called him football ritalin when we got him. Always thought that was a good comparison. Sanchez has to be on point all the time. I think it's a big reason why he's in better shape and bigger than he usually is. Not sure why people hate QBR so much. It's basically quarterback rating weighted heavily based on game situation. It's just another piece of the puzzle when evaluating players statistically.
I agree that QBR is a pretty stupid stat...still it's nice to be near the top instead of near the bottom. I mean, Tannehill was a 3.1. That's just plain funny. Weeden was a 1.2. I didn't even know it was possible to score that low. I thought it was like the SATs where you get a certain number of points just for taking to the field
Total QBR is different from regular passer rating. I believe his passer rating was 122 yesterday. Pretty darn good! Who beat Sanchez in QBR? Griffin or Matt Ryan?
The int, and the one fumble that was not lost were both ugly. He missed a few passes too, but that sort of shit will happen. Except for the turnover and the near turnover he looked damn good.
Boomer was on this morning talking about how this is something parcells constantly did. worried about your QB getting to the next level? solution = fck with him. do something to try and mess with him mentally and see how he handles it. he said he thinks this is something along those lines. this may not push sanchez so to speak, but it will either help him mature or show he cant hack it
Let's see how he holds up against a top Defense next week. That game will tell us a lot about how Sanchez has progressed. I really do hope that the Jets have found the answer to their RT issues.
I gave up on QBR when last yr week 1 Sanchez threw for over 330+ and had 2 TD/1 INT and somehow had a lower rating than donovan mcnabb who completed 7 passes for like 40 yds and had a 1 TD/1 INT. Makes no sense. With that said its nice to see his stellar performance yesterday reflected in what QBR measures.
