What's more possible... A linebacker who can't crack the backup corps but is decent at STs being given a final chance to keep a roster spot as a situational FB with a flexible OC... Or a starting fullback losing his job to a linebacker/h-back combo, neither of which have proven themselves in regular season play behind the LOS? This thread is pretty dumb. FB may be a replaceable position, but its not negligible. They brought Tony Richardson in for a reason. If they cut Conner... I really don't know what the hell they are thinking. Our run blocking up front is already suffering.
John Connor hasnt shown me squat since we drafted him. Rex giving him the nickname "Terminator" is and was a joke.
for the love of god. John Connor had the nickname terminator in high school because of his fucking name. Secondly he was rated by PFT as a top 15 FB in his sophmore year. So Connor is one of the things we shouldn't be worrying about.
PFF graded him as the 3rd best run blocking FB and the 6th best overall blocking FB in 2011. He graded higher than 2010 Tony Richardson in both categories.
If you didn't realize yet: Bellore to FB is permanent. Conner is done as FB. So what is there for Conner? This also means Conner is better RT than WFH ever will. Conner will play RT for the remainder of the preseason.
If thats the case then so be it. I just dont see it. The guy struggled to gain a yard the other night didnt he?
I couldnt figure out why he couldnt power for 1 yard or dive over the pile. He is the 'Terminator" you know. He is also the only FB on the roster.
LTJF relayed the story I was alluding to.....So Abyzmul...... you shut the fuck up ass clown. You talk like you know something! You are a total fucktard on this forum.........
Gee, thanks. Now go back to eating doghair or whatever your were doing before a trail of shiny objects led you in front of a computer.
Who cares what your think someone has shown you? You have shown everyone on this forum that you don't know anything about football, over and over again.
Fullbacks don't need to run. They need to block. Catching and running the ball is something that is considered a fringe benefit of rare fullbacks.
Well Connor isnt doing much of any of the above. FBs can and should be able to gain 1 yard or dont give him the damn ball on 4th and 1.
Maybe, I just remember getting mad at him last year more than I ever did with T-Rich. You guys are probably right, mostly because the way this offense is run, a blocking fullback probably will staying. More like 90-10 he stays on the team than 75-25. Baker is more of an H-Back type. I wasn't able to watch either Jets game as closely as I would like since I had to go out to a bar for each one, no one really looked good blocking on the edge up front, especially on the right side. I mostly made my post on 2 things. 1: The quote saying Connor is the fullback for now, and Sparano liking guys like Clay (tight end/fullback hybrid) and Hilliard (halfback/fullback hybrid) in Miami. Plus, maybe Conner was a little better than I thought. I don't have DVR, so I can only watch the games once, so I don't get to focus on players like I used to be able to. He's a one-dimensional fullback in a league constantly de-emphasizing them. The Jets didn't under Schottenheimer, but Sparano is a big fan of versatility.
You continue to prove me right about you. But ever since the Braylon nonsense, I have had an inkling that you're just some fella who thinks he knows football trolling with a dupe account, so continue with your failure.
