Jenny Vrentas @JennyVrentas Cumberland has a concussion, team spokesman said At what point do we give up on this guy? He can't seem to stay healthy and is a liability in protection. I think given the state of things it may make sense to cut him on 9/1 for a blocking TE. Thoughts?
If Chris Cooley is cut loose (which could happen), I think it would make sense for the Jets to drop Cumberland and scoop up Cooley to act as a blocking specialist who at least presents some semblance of a receiving threat at this point.
Prefer to just cut him but not so sure if there's anything better out there when teams start trimming their rosters. If he's on the roster this season, I'm assuming it'll also be his last season as a Jet. Cooley would be a really nice addition but I think the Redskins will bring him back despite the salary & young TE they currently have. Double TE sets or just having an experienced vet who can produce to help out RGIII for his rookie season. He's not in their long-term plans but I wouldn't be surprised if they just kept him for just one more season.

Arent we like $6 million under the cap? Whats Tanne waiting for? Its time to make deal for a TE and a RT.
it looks like tanny is going to be forced to do something uncharacteristic and soon...and that's admit that he was wrong... Hunter and Cumberland both need to be replaced. Two key spots and Tanny's job depends on it IMO.
