That is for the owner of the team to decide not Barlow. Since when did he become the expert on how to run an NFL franchise. sheesh
I'm not gonna jump all over his ass, but 2 comments stand out, more than others, as sheer ignorance. 1 - First year coach with too much power. His way or the highway. Counter point: Kevan, they're the COACH. It IS their way or the highway. 2 - Guys are afraid if they don't produce they'll get the axe. Counter point - Kevan, what team have you ever played on, where the guys that never produce have job security. If you want that type of job, you just missed your boss. He's in KC now. Either that or go work for the NYDT or the LIRR.
Anyone who thinks Barlow isn't a fit , go to the NYJets.com and look at TC day 26 video. The guys wraped to be here and will give his all.
  Yeah, running back should definitely one of the key positions to watch during the college season this year.
Actions speak louder than words, give us a string of 100yd games this year and you will have made your point Kevan...Curtis never spoke badly about the NE trade
I don't think he is nearly good enough to deal with this kind of attitude.. Its one thing to deal with a prima donna that produces..
All i can say is that i hope he runs his ass off for us this year tryin to prove his old coach wrong.
The 1 detail that makes me alot more comfortable about the situation is that he was man enough to call Nolan and speak with him. That speaks volumes. When your talking character this was a sure sign of it. Rather than just take the easy road and apologize through the media he made sure that Nolan heard it directly from his mouth. I'm over it and ready to evaluate his character on the field.
It's different because Tannebaum is Mangini's boss & Nolan is his own boss when it comes to player decisions. Tannebaum has the final say in trades/drafts picks/ and contracts! That's the difference. With the JETS the end results are in Tannebaum's hand and not Mangini. Now I think they are both on the same page and are agreeing on all the decisions but it's still up to Tannebaum.
The 49ers should be completely ashamed of what they have done to their organization. Barlow has the right to say whatever he wants about them cause they don't even belong in the NFL in my opinion. They are a laughingstock.
I dont care if he whines, as long as he produces. But if not....Adrian "All-Day" Peterson is welcome.
That being said, wouldn't you have liked to give the guy who went to the Bengals in the 3rd round, Brooks, a chance. He also had character issues and would have filled in a position of need for this team. Woulda coulda shoulda. Maybe a team of boyscouts isn't even feasible. Personally, I don't care how much a guy flaps his mouth, so long as it doesn't impact the team or his gameplay. Take Shockey for instance, the guy has a big mouth, not disputed by anyone. However, he doesn't let it impact his team or his gameplay, and he's a playmaker when on the field. Of course, the flipside is TO, a total virus to any team he heads to. I would never want to see someone with his background. It goes without saying that Barlowe should have kept his mouth shut and moved on, but some guys just can't resist to take that parting shot as the head to the next team.
