Yeh surprised me too. He seems to have a very even headed view of Tebow. One that many on here share. He has flaws, but those flaws can be fixed and his ceiling is much higher than many on this board are willing to admit. Is he better than Sanchez? not even close. But I have faith that some organization will eventually buy into him being a full time starter and if he becomes even an average passer.... watch out!
It was fun hearing Young echo my own views -- the problem with Tim is his feet. His feet (up until now) do not put him in the position to deliver an accurate throw on the quick short stuff. He's got the arm and the touch. Going further, to the people who say "Why hasn't it happened?" -- he's having to re-construct his habits from the ground up, which causes a rough year or two.
Young has always had a very objective view of Tebow from the start. He acknowledges the potential and the flaws.
I thought it was a fair assesment. Pretty mch in line with what the supporters are saying. He could improve, but no guarantee. I was concerned that he said the footwork wasn't as bad in college. Makes me wonder what the hell happened
He had adapted his footwork perfectly to the offense they ran in college (all shotgun, run fakes and throws in the spread). He's been trying to learn a different way to do it, with a lot of "cooks in the kitchen." Nobody wants to hear it, because his detractors seem only interested in the "you're blaming everyone but Tebow!!" theme, but to those that are actually interested in whether they're looking at a potential franchise quarterback, there's a pretty unusual story -- first NFL coach put his brother coaching him, got fired midseason, NFL lockout, then last year's camp craziness, followed by some amazing instinctive play in the 2011 run. He just needs to settle in and do it. There's no hurry. Sanchez is the Jets starter.
My opinion is either: he's in the tear down to rebuild mode which will look worse before it gets better or (worse case scenario), he's had so many people telling him what to do and how to do it that it's now some disastrous freak show.
I'm certainly not as qualified as Steve Young (or really qualified in any sense), but I've watched him pretty closely for his entire career, and he looks better to me. He still overstrides often times.
So? I like how Steve Young says something positive and its gospel and Boomer says something negative and he is the worst person ever. Like so many people want to point out nobody can really predict success or failure, we are all guessing based upon what we see and either think or hope will happen.

Young's statement is far less absolute for one. Also Young stated that he had actually throw with Tebow and that only after doing so was his mind changed. It is my opinion that he has more to go on than Boomer. Also what Boomer said makes no sense. There has been very little of the "tebow fan circus" that was such a huge problem in Denver. Like I stated in another post maybe the "circus" was a symptom of a football crazy fan base. There are few if any people calling for Tebow to start right away and he can be a benefit in the wildcat even if he never throws a pass. Of course they both are entitled to their opinion.
Because this is the only place to go to discuss an athlete a care about. If you've read my past posts... you'd know why i have a personal interest in Tebow. I do NOT go to the main forum and talk about Tebow. The Jets aren't my team (i'm a Raven) and I know its not my place... yet you go out of your way to go to a forum put aside for fans like myself just to shit all over every single post. While I agree, the vitriol leveled at him for his opinion was pure Tebow Fan boy. You should have heard / seen the stuff on the Denver Broncos forum anytime anyone said anything even remotely negative about tebow. After the season DT said a couple things that were slightly negative against Tebow and people called him all sorts of names. It is quite disturbing how un-christian the hardcore Tebow fans are.
Start a Tebow fan forum then. I will donate $50 towards the set-up. Then I wont feel the need to call you and your friends out on your constant excuse making for a sub par QB. Just think you guys can have whole threads on who to blame for Tebow being bad at his job. I can see it now. the vitriol being spewed is a bit over the top, however keep in mind that Denver is th home of Focus on the Family. The fanbase out there may be a little more rabid for Tebow than New York. Also it is the internet, any jackass with a keyboard can type whatever they want. Just look at the comments on any feel good story posted about anything and you will se hundreds of racist sexist and downright disgusting posts. Hell I wouldn't be suprised to see that some of the "Tebow fans" on this forum are denver fans coming here to Troll because they think it is hilarious. Quite honestly it is. The proper response for the pro-Tebow trolling is "cool stroy bro" and move on
