Your assumption about Sanchez being on a short leash is entirely incorrect. The Jets are locked into Sanchez for three more years contractually. Three years is a long time in NFL years. The Jets didn't sign Sanchez to a 10+ million dollar contract to sit on the bench after a bad game in the first four weeks of the season. Sanchez is the franchise quarterback. If the Jets want to not follow in the footsteps of the Chargers and give up too early on franchise caliber QBs then they will stick with him and allow him to grow. The Jets may feel the best way to do that is to put pressure on him but they will not give up on him. Tebow's here to help the Jets win games through unconventional means. No one wanted him as their starting QB so he's doing the next best thing which is utilizing his talents in a way that will allow him and his team to succeeed.
