Today is day five of TC. Defense gets to wear black jerseys again. A few TEBOW chants for the ESPN camera but seemed more of a "hi mom, I'm on TV!" type of thing. Better day for Tebow with good completions to TE Josh Baker, TE Jeff Cumberland (fake punt) and Dexter Jackson. Jets are finally working on red zone with Sanchez. Saw that Sanchez went just 7-19 with a pick today...I don't think he's going to quiet the QB controversy talk if that kind of inconsistent play continues, regardless of what the coaching staff says in the papers. If he's passing just as bad as Tebow, you might as well put Tebow in there because he can at least bring something in the running department.

Maybe if he didnt take 100% of first team reps. There is no controversy. There's three camps. 1. The HOPE camp - Tebow lovers fit in here, they refuse to see/hear the truth and steadfastly stand by their boy and just KNOW he will be the starter soon. 2. The FEAR camp - the Sanchez / Jets fans that fear the endless days of Tebow this Tebow that and the endless media questions about how sanchez will do. Will he fold will he rise..blah blah blah and they think that Tebow will be the inevitable decline of their QB and team. 3. The REALISTIC camp - they see / hear the truth. tebow is the 2nd string QB with no shot of stealing Sanchez' job anytime soon and hope that whatever they use Tebow for works in our favor.
I'm in the "HOPEFULLY REALISTIC" (or maybe "REALISTICALLY HOPEFUL") camp - Tebow is the 2nd string QB with no shot of stealing Sanchez' job anytime soon. I hope he helps the Jets win games and improves his game enough that he gets another shot at a starting job in a year or so. I'd love nothing better than to have the Jets lock up home-field advantage and give Tebow the second half of game 16 to run the Jets offense.

There's a big difference between open competition in camp and "the starting job is the first-stringer's to lose; he'll only be replaced if he plays his way out of it". Jets are the latter.
