lol yeah I was gonna say. Don't think any of those three will be with us next year except maybe Eric Smith. In fact, even if Smith, Landry, and Bell are good this year I'm worried about our safety positions next year. As for Maybin I think we should try to lock him up by halfway through the season if he's getting sacks and playing well.
Im glad he has a fresh start. Bills fans made fun of Maybin's hustle and screaming at camp for whatever reason. Since I was a big Maybin supporter in Buffalo I hope he proves me right, but he needs to work on those skinny legs and lay off the curls. Hopefully the Jets get those legs bigger.
Maybin has done nothing but back up all his words with 100% commitment and made plays ..if he can bulk up and contribute as 2 or 3 down olb we have a good player for a few years to come Re salary cap by cutting Pace, Scott , Hunter , E Smith and restructuring Pouha, Cro and Harris we will be in fine shape re cap space...its Tanny people stop worrying
More Aaron Maybin news:http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2012/08/jets_aaron_maybin_seeking_more.html "Maybin estimates he’s part of eight or nine more defensive packages than last season." "He’s also being tried at different spots on the field, in keeping with the Jets’ objective to confuse opposing offenses. Maybin says he’ll line up outside, at middle linebacker or even stem — i.e. move before the snap — from the three-technique, on the outside shoulder of the guard." "On the first night of training camp, Maybin stood up in the team meeting and asked his teammates to go ahead and get out any critical comments about his alma mater, and then drop the issue. His hope is to be a support system for some of the current students and players at Penn State, who are trying to make sense of their futures during a surreal and transformative period for the school."
Love the attitude, the man is a freak and I have a strange feeling he will up his game to that next level and terrorize Brady all day long.
it makes me so happy to see a jets player so committed to "playing like a jet" and "team" first. i can see him having an extremely effective season, he will definitely become a fan favorite by all.
fantasy land thinking! you can't be serious? his next contract will be his most important of his career. leave money on the table? LOL in fantasy land maybe, but in the real world that's laughable.
We have 3 Vets on 1 year deals with the like's of Demario Davis and Arron Maybin to fill the void for the next couple years. We still need to retain 1 Vet or draft another one(After RT)
