To those of you that downloaded both games, which would you prefer? 700mb or 1400mb? The first game did not have 5.1 surround sound and was encoded at about 700kbps. The second game had 192kbps 5.1 audio and had a video bitrate of around 1200kbps. The difference in quality is especially noticable during the run of play when the camera is constantly panning and zooming. If you want my opinion, I'd rather make a 1400mb file and split the halves. I always prefer quality. I also don't the upload either. Some of us are less patient though, so you decide...

I'd prefer a smaller file. The quality of the Bucs game was excellent.

the smaller is fine... and did you change any of the other settings on the video compared to last week?

For some reason my video converter won't do this file, so i can't make the music video yet....

As long as it's not in mp4 format, I'm happy.

I'm not a picky man, the first game resolution was quite nice IMO.

Smaller file is better IMO - still waiting on game 2 finishing!

Strange about this one, mplayer (the only video player you can really use in linux) doesn't pick up the fps it was encoded at. What framerate did you use?

Starndard NTSC fps, 29.970. BTW, mplayer works great on Windows as well.

That's what I figured, still no dice, must be a newer version of quicktime that linux doesn't like:

    Playing 20060819.preseason.week.2.jets.redskins.1st.half.mp4.
    Quicktime/MOV file format detected.
    Warning! pts=1395005007 length=-1056100900
    VIDEO: [avc1] 640x352 24bpp 0.000 fps 0.0 kbps ( 0.0 kbyte/s)

If i force-set the fps to 29.97, the a/v sync goes off quite a bit very shortly into play.

Guess I vote for the other format :)

What distro are you running? Linux is widely supported by VLC so I don't understand why you're not running it?

Check the homepage for all the distro's that are supported by VLC.

It's 64-bit, so mplayer will allow me to use the 32-bit libs. VLC will not, I'll try it on my 32 bit laptop though, see if i can get it on there, I think it's just the Quicktime translation into linux that's broken, as it looks.
