I'm buying 5 or 6 tickets for NYJ/NYG preseason game. I'm just getting the cheap tickets because I feel just getting the door is good enough for me and friends to have a good time. The cheapest ones are, not surprisingly, the sections jammed into the corner of the stadium. However, I have notice that there are seats available for the same price located at dead center behind the endzone. These seats seem like the way better choice than stuck in the corner. But I want to make sure there isn't something wrong with them before I buy them. I never trust a good deal. Is it alcohol free section or some bullshit like that ?
Upper Deck seats suck you cant see much of the players or the game unless you bring binoculars. Pay for lower level or mezzanine seats or stay home.
Same I sat in the upper level and had no problem seeing the numbers or anything for that matter. It was quite enjoyable actually.
I've had season tickets upstairs my whole life and I actually think you get to see the game better from there than lower level. i.e. seeing plays develop and stuff. Obviously The new stadium is a lot steeper but I still like it up there. The whole watch it down low or don't go to the game is nonsense.
I can't speak for Metlife specifically but I've sat in the endzone seats for a game. I liked the seats. Now the direction I was facing also faced the Jumbotron so when things were up the far end of the field I had to just watch it on the screen but if you're in a corner tucked up in the back corner you'll probably be doing the same thing. Only other place I've sat is in the upper bowl pretty much at mid-field (Ralph Wilson). It was high up but I could still make out the numbers of the players and what was happening just fine. Honestly, the major reason for going to the game is for the atmosphere anyway. I'd rather have the shittiest seats in the building but be there with my buddies than watch it at home with those same guys. But that's just me.
I had the last row in the stadium, dead center of the goalpost at MetLife for the entire '10 season and had a good time .. like someone mentioned earlier, you can see the play develop real nice .. wasn't a terrible view .. and best of all, you're there
It boils down to what you want for your money. A) if you want to see what's going on and follow the game on the feild not the jumbo tron. Best place is probably on the 1st level at the very top or 2nd level very bottom on the 50 yard line. (all this being on the lower deck) B) want something more affordable go with upper deck seats, you can still follow the game relatively as easy as the lower deck seats for 1/3 of the cost. C) if you're going for just the experience I say sit in the endzone. actually the corner of the end zone by the tunnel and watch all the players come out. seating is affordable and when they're in the red zone (your red zone) you got the best seat in the house. D) my personal favorite is right around the 20 yard line. you have a much better vantage than the end zone but you do pay for it. the 20 yard line is right where the prices will start to spike the closer you move in, I'd rather pay $250 for my ticket instead of the guy 8 seats over in the same row different section who's paying $350.
Even better. Man I need to get to a game at Metlife. Coming from Toronto it's a big expense thought: flight (or drive ~10hours), hotel, ticket, food, beer, wife (yes, she's listed as an expense as we'd have to go shopping if she came along), taking a few days off work since it's not worth all that time and effort to just come down for a night or two. That's why I'm just going to have to stick with going to Buffalo
If you're buying from Stubhub and if you don't mind waiting until last minute, I suggest buying it then since it's a lot cheaper. I don't have season tickets but whenever I can make it to New York this is what I usually do and there are plenty of tickets available, especially for preseason games (not big regular season games like the Pats or last year's Giants game). Also, if you're comfortable with Craigslist you'll get it cheaper there. Just be on your toes for scammers. Usually season ticket holders have parking passes, and if they don't, that's usually when it's a little fishy. Just my 2 cents, have fun at the game.
wow man thats a trip, you should come down this season if you can and check out the new stadium...its a lot of fun being in our new home.
I want to for sure, maybe next season. Depends on finances and if we go on other vacations and stuff. I've wanted to do New York for awhile anyway so I'll just make sure it coincides with a Jets home game and skip over to NJ for the day. When I do end up booking it I'll probably be on here asking for tips anyway: places to eat, good hotels, stuff to see, etc.
I spent 2010 in 301 row 8, and chose that location to be EXACTLY dead center. Last year I was able to move to 341 row 2 which while costing more, is a much better view. The primary reason being that while the entire upper deck is too high up, the Upper EZ's only allow for a view of two of the four big screens. I think it's better to be in a corner to at least see three out of four. If the corner seats are in a lower row than the EZ choice, even better.
Buy the cheapest tickets just to get into the stadium. There are lots of empty seats for the preseason , even the jets-giants. You can always move to better seats .
I would use Stubhub its expensive but you avoid rip offs...say it all time but Mezz level are amazing tickets ...pricey but for a special occasion its worth it.. New stadium is frankly fantastic .....
