Making room for Braylon Edwards...............:beer: The Jets made two roster moves today, waiving quarterback G.J. Kinne and releasing veteran offensive lineman Ray Willis. Kinne signed with the Jets this spring as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa. But quarterback Matt Simms, whom the Jets signed after a tryout at rookie mini-camp, appeared to be in front of Kinne at the veteran mini-camp, receiving reps ahead of Kinne. The Jets are now back to four quarterbacks on their roster. Willis was one of two veteran offensive linemen the Jets added last month, along with Stephon Heyer. Willis is a seven-year pro who has started 26 games at tackle and guard in his NFL career. The Jets now have two available spots on their 90-man roster.
It must be a surreal to go from being pretty much the biggest name at a big University to next to no-one in the space of a couple of months.
