I love Revis, and I understand that he has to maximize what he can, but I'd trade him for a bunch of shit if this continues. Nothing personal.

If he holds out he holds out. It would be a good thing for the team this year. A lot of the scrutiny on the offense would be dissipated as the media focused on Revis and the holdout.

It's not like the Jets can likely afford to keep him anyway. Having him holdout into the season would be a good pressure point on both Revis and the Jets about the effect he has on the cap and on the team's competitive stance.

nothing revis said in any way suggests that he is not doing anything other than working with the team to get ready for the season.

it fucking sucks being a jets fan right now. there is absolutely nobody doing a stitch of journalism in the local media; its all just pure bullshit.

this article is a pile of trash. revis is obviously ticked off as well.

This is media generated bullshit. He's not holding out this year because his agents know they can't get more w/the jets cap situation. He probably has been instructed to never give a positive yes/no answer to that question and he's just following orders.

Next year is another story - and don't buy that horse shit clause in his contract about not holding out either. If he wants to hold out next year he will. The end result will be a new contract or a trade, not him ending up on the Jets for however many years at a reduced rate. That's a joke.

This is like the 13543654543 time someone says that ...
Revis said he wasn't "unhappy about nothing"

Exactly. The only reason that Revis would hold out is if his agents are completely braindead, or if he wants to be traded.

We've seen nothing to suggest that either is the case.

It's really hard to come up with a new NFL story every day in the offseason, so there's going to be a lot more of this speculative bullshit. Until training camp starts, I really suggest that everyone tune out the media.

he cant hold out this year. the money simply isnt there.

he will next year though. either that or force a trade to someone willing to give him Calvin Johnson money.

I love Revis but hes not worth whatever top WR's are making. Revis can eliminate whoever he wants but hes not scoring 10+ tds a year himself.

furthermore the dropoff from him to a replacement wouldnt be as horrible as people think. although jets fans would be convinced otherwise after being spoiled by watching Revis.

all that being said we have to do whatever we can to keep him. just not at the cost of being able to field a capable team at other positions.

He won't hold out this year ... he will next year but I have a feeling we will take care of him. The Jets, especially Woody, care about their future HOFers; we need Revis to be a lifelong Jet no matter how much it hinders our short-term cap.

I think people underestimate the relationship Revis has with Rex. Money is a priority for Revis, but I think playing football and being comfortable in a system and with a team is important to him too. I didn't even read the article, but I am pretty sure this is another writer trying to make a big deal out of something that, at the moment, is not a big deal.

Revis is playing football for the New York Jets this year. We are a better football team with him on the field. I'll worry about next year, next year.

If you listen to the audio it seems he is more annoyed at the repeated questions...that is will you hold out... of the reporters than with anything else. They asked him if he would be there on the first day of camp. He said he doesn't know... not really a story there at all. But they kept pushing him til he basically says guys I have answered this question. Then says I don't know. Typical NY beat writers trying to stir up something out of basically nothing.

He would be stupid to do so. If he holds out 3 years are added on to his deal at 3M a year or something along those lines.

He'll be at TC and during the 2013 offseason they will work on a new deal.

I would have no problem trading him if they get a return for some impact players. A corner doesn't have nearly the impact that other positions have and as such shouldn't make a ridiculous amount of money.

It is NOT a non story. Most selfish player going.... 50/50 he holds out, whether it benefits him or not.... Guy signed a frontloaded contract, pocketed the big money and now doesn't like the rest of the contract, even though he just took advantage of the money up front part.... It's BS and don't give him too much credit.... He'd hold out in a second.

Except it makes no sense for him to hold out this year because the Jets CAN'T give him more money. The cap won't allow it.

It's all BS the media is trying to stir the pot.
