Just saw this clip from Chad's college days. I believe it would be his second year of eligibility, which was his Jr year. It is a TD pass to Randy Moss with the ball traveling 45+ yards in the air. He threw quite a few passes like this while at Marshall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viUJ48rCJ38 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjZ2HW5DuJo&mode=related&search= He has never had a canon arm, but he has the arm to get it there.
He can throw the long ball, not 80 yards down the field, but he can throw a decent long ball. Questions with his arm strength are about his ability to zip the ball into tight spots, and hit the deep outs.
Nothng like watching a college ball 45yard completion to Randy Moss that will make me think Chad is Bret Farve reincarnate..
the cult of chad still thinks he can throw like 2002. that's like trying to star burt reynolds 2006 in another smokey and the bandit movie.
I'm not sure I understand your post. Do you disagree with what I said? I don't remember seeing anyone say he could throw like 2002.
a fair question. i agree with what you said, and i do not think he can do what you asked. he severly limits the offense, and hurts both the passing and running games because defenses can load up on the dink and dunk, and he can't make them back off. the team, in my opinion, would be better off in the future by going with clemmins, bolly , and brad smith. hell, tampa bay had 3rd and 4th qbs that can do better than the egg. the cult still thinks he is the college/2002 guy and that's where the difference lies-he's not!
I'm not sure he's ever been able to make those throws but I could be wrong. I honestly don't remember. I agree that his inability to make those throws limits the offense and I'm really starting to believe that we should just throw Clemens in. If we could only put Chads head on Clemens' body ...
Damn I can't believe I forgot about that.... EDIT: Make that since Leftwich left they've really done nothing.
