blaylock/houston/washington dont scare anyone either i think the edition of duckett would be decent only b/c he can start this year and be our #2 back of the future....whereas mccareins has no future with us
Got to make this deal Duckett brings instant improvement to the running game. Im not a big Blaylock fan i see him as possibly being a goner also.
if we do bring in duckett i think blaylock then has value as our 3rd down/spelling back and then id see houston as the odd man out actually at rb(could even send him with mccareins)
Dont be so sure Houston comes alot cheaper than Blaylock and besides Houston is alot younger and better sized.Blaylock will get pounded as an every game back.

I know in Iowa I don't always get a chance to keep up on the latest, but I get tired of trading picks and/or young talent (D.Strait) for injured guys with potential or old vets. The Mets did this for years and look how long it took them to put a team together, and when they did it was young talent and smart trades. Run Houston and Blaylock, throw Clemens in for a while, and see what happens. Start fresh with Mangini and go. Not much difference between 5-11 and 6-10. Use J-Mac as trade bait for something a little better, or at least don't wrap up draft picks in a deal
People get shot for just posting their opinion on this Board.....Last year I wanted Steve McNair on this team (I ended up getting banned from all the back & forth chatting about it) I know 1 thing if we had Mcnair on this team, there would be no QB controversy at all.....By the way I love Duckett....I think he will be happy to wear Green & White again (for those who don't know he wore those colors at Michigan State)
Man I would JUMP on this oppportunity, to not only secure a potential starter at running back, but to rid ourselves of a rather useless receiver. Its a win win situation

Dunn is just a hare under 5'8" 180lbs and T.j. Duckett is a little over 6'0" 254. Huge difference but you were right on the powerful and fast part. He ran a 4.41 at that size at the combine.
Damn could it be any worse for McCareins if he goes to Atlanta. he couldnt catch the ball here and hes never going to see the ball anywhere near him in ATL :lol:
To tell you the truth, I cannot believe that the Falcons would entertain the notion of trading a coveted backup for a wideout that just got demoted. Sure, they are in need of a 3rd wideout, but I don't see these two players as being equal value with the recent developments surrounding McCareins. Although I don't think I was one of the people that killed you for it.
If no draft picks are added from our side, I wouldn't object to this trade. But it's not as slam dunk as many seem to think. Duckett hasn't really shown anything and Atlanta has better run blockers than we do. He's also in his FA year which may leave us in a strange position; Will we overpay to keep a mediocre RB instead of going after someone like Adrian Peterson next year? We're also going to eat 4 mill in dead money for trading McCariens and he's our ONLY big target. Let's not forget, three years, three systems for McCariens and who has he had throwing to him? He wasn't worth the 2nd rounder we gave up for him, but is Duckett really worth it?
I agree completely. Given JMac's role on this team, the Falcons giving up Duckett for him would be downright charitable. If this deal is actually on the table, Tannenbaum would be remiss not to pull the trigger.
I've been very excited about the potential of trading for Duckett. I not only think he will solve our RB problems short term, but he could also be a long term facet for this team. He has a very unique blend of size, power and speed that just needs to be given an opportunity. The system he plays in, in Atlanta does not fit his skillset...and I believe he can be very successful in NY. If we acquire him for McCareins...I'd consider it an absolute steal.
Atlanta uses the 'zone blocking' scheme. Is our system all that different? It's not like we have road graters. We have smallish guys that pull a lot. Will Duckett really fit that system better?
