Wow, didn't know we had some many draft experts here I'm no expert though if you listen to Kiper gush about Ingram he basically said he's a great 1 down player. Said the question on him is that he may be too small to play DT and where do you put him on first and second down. As for Coples, sure there are concerns though did anyone watch him at the Senior Bowl, he looked damn dominate there. To me the knocks on Coples can be coached out of him, the knocks on Ingram cannot as they are mainly physical. No reason to get carried away just yet and say this is a bad pick, let the guy show what he can do first
Oh man we are screwed the Pats just got the best defensive player in the draft with the 21st pick in the draft
He's 6'6 285 and played DE/DT in college. Maybe we do plan on using him at OLB, I wouldn't be surprised. Rex doesn't do static positions. Maybe he will be our OLB. After watching Maybin get blown up and still produce with his high motor we decide to get a massive dude with questionable motor.
Weeden is really good, his problem is that hes 28. Definately better than Tannenhill, his age was the problem tho.
Ha.. Gholston had 22.5 sacks his last two years with taking plays off. By your statistical emphasis, did that make Gholston a good football player coming out of college too? Again, have you watched the kid play at all? You strike me as a stat guy, so I'm really curious if you have actually watched this kid play in any length?
They worked him out all week as an OLB. He will play some OLB and we don have a lot of 4-3 packages where he will play end. Hes a good player who can be put in many different spots. I just hope TebowChrist can motivate him like he did the unholy Broncos defense to the playoffs/promised land.
Mario Williams was the same height and weight and played OLB last year... Rex loves to mix it up, in 4-3 fronts, he’ll be a great DE and an OLB in 3-4.
